    I need a hat....I *dislike* Hats!!!

Hate is a strong word and not one i like to use too often, but when it comes to hats, well...

I look very bad in hats, i need one that i can wear every day and not look like im trying to be either a skater, in a hippy band or about to go to bingo.

What sort of hat do YOU have and love???

I am not a fan of hats either, I should wear one all the time. I have a Helly Hansen visor hat that is red in colour. It's one I don't mind wearing

I have a black baseball cap. It is from a skater shop but because it is all black, including the logo, I don't really look like a skater in it. I also have a wide brimmed straw hat but I look too mumsy in it so I rarely wear it.

I love my canvas wide-brimmed surfie hat. But then, the only time I really wear hats at all is at the beach or park or similar, so floppy surf hat plus sunglasses works well for me.

I am guessing you're talking sun protection style hat and not day at the races type hats here (because that's a whole different kettle of fish)?

I got a gorgeous grey cowboy hat at the start of the year, it got killed in Bali.

Going to be looking for another type of hat for summer since I walk home and it is still light after 7pm.

Maybe try someone like Winnie and Clem on FB? She makes some gorgeous custom stuff.

my brother isn't much of a sunhat person, so he got a sombrero and wears that.

    I kid you not.

I have a few different baseball style caps (I find having them in colours like cream, olive, or purple avoids the "skater" style look!) and I have a broad brimmed (non-sombrero) black and white woven sunhat which I love

cow boy hats, while they look cool, arnt really for me.

    sombrero....really...

Im trying to avoid the overly mumsy look, but i have tried on a few wide brimmed hats, a woven one i tried today looked ok, but it did look a bit 'off to the races', which wasnt what i was after.

thanks Tan for the tip off.....will look now.

My head is just too ROUND to pull one off tho.

Me = round head and way too much hair. I hate hats, too, and I have a sister who keeps giving me hats for gifts. Anyway, I found a pretty straw bowler-shaped hat that is the first hat I've ever loved.

    sombrero....really...
    yup.

it all started because at primary school, one year they made a rule that kids weren't allowed out to play unless they were wearing an approved hat.

little bro hated the legionairre (sp?) hats and gold hats they sold at the school, and would wear a cap.

caps were not "approved" as they didn't cover up enough, so my brother asked what exactly the requirement was, and they said it needed to be either legionairre style or broad brimmed ...

so he found a sombrero for 50c when op shopping with mum, and the rest is history ...

the teacher was really peeved, but hey - you set out the parameters of the rule
