    Exercise after embryo transfer???

Hi all you gorgeous girls out there,

Got a question, i have embryo transfer next wednesday. Do i continue to do my normal things, like heading off to the gym for a run (no weights). Im a gym junkie (helps control the pcos) and do a fair bit of exercise a week. Im so worried that if i do exercise in those 2 weeks after, i might jeopardise things. Or can i, seeings i have been fit for awhile, my body would see this as normal.
I know im going to go crazy during the 2ww, and ill need to do something to get my mind off it. I'll have work and everything, but wondering if the gym is a go-er or a no-er.
Let me know your thoughts, i'd feel better with some girly advice. My FS seems to think i should be fine, but im a bit worries about that.
    Thank you all

    xxx

Anything that raises your core temperature or your heart rate is a no no.

In the US, clinics advise total bed rest for three days after. They don't tend to recommend that here but some women follow it.

Also no hot baths, saunas, spas. Watch medications (no Nurofen or aspirin) and most clinic advise eating as you would when pregnant (no soft cheese, deli meats, etc). I also don't have sex or orgasm....

Put it this way, don't do anything you might regret if it doesnt work.

    Hope that helps

    What N2L said...

I asked the nurse if I could continue to just do my usual light walking. Her answer was word for word what N2L said:

Put it this way, don't do anything you might regret if it doesnt work
Couch time, couch time and more couch time.

I didn't have sex afterwards either.

    Good luck for next week

Hmmm, interesting, our FS told us to go home and make love and make sure I had an orgasm as it pretty much re creates the normal conditions of which a conception happens and makes the uterus more baby friendly. (totally TMI I know BUT we followed her advice and got a BFP)

But yes, no spa's, sauna's etc that will increase your body temp above normal

Is there anything we can't do before ET and EPU?

FS just told me to behave as if I was pregnant - they gave me an information sheet with all the recommended info on it which was very helpful. I went to personal training 5 days later and spoke to my personal trainer about it and she said any exercise that raises the heart rate above 140bpm is a nono for pregnant women - especially in the first trimester. on the day of ET I spent it on the couch mostly - I was too scared to move!! but it was good to get into a routine with work and to keep my mind off it, cause I think I would have gone mental if I had to stay at home the whole time!!!

there were no rules before EPU - but I was too sore and tired to do anything between EPU and ET, then after ET, there was the Crinone, which is just weird... and I can't imagine having sex with the crappy tissuelike substance that's left behind...

either way, just take all your questions with you and the FS will answer - you're journey may be different to mine, and it is all individual, so you need to make sure you are listening to your own experts!

just go with the flow - it all makes sense in the end :-)

    Thank you all,

Everything that was said certainly makes sense. I dont want to do anything to jeopardise it, so normal activities except hitting the gym. My FS told me just to carry on like normal until you either get a +/- hp test/blood test, but i wanted to the opinion of all you gorgeous women out there. It must be the strangest feeling.
take my trigger tonight at 8.15. Figure i'll be cramping up for all of sunday, but its all worth it.
Thanks peeps, you are honestly keeping me sane

I didn't notice any reaction to the trigger - so maybe you won't have any reaction to it :-) Let's hope :-)

    good luck!!
