    Post Breast reduction

    Hi BB Members,

Just wondering if anyone has had breast reduction. I am thinking about it and would like to hear personal experiences. After having two children, I am but proud of my 12E saggy breasts and would like to do something about them. Not only is it becoming saggy but has become uncomfortable and unbearable. I hate them. Also, it is affecting my posture.

I researched this quite thoroughly when deciding whether to have a lift done at the same time I was having a reconstruction. Are there specific questins you have? There are a few old threads that you could do a search for.

I've had it done - twice! The first time when I was 17 then again when I was about 23. I had 1.3kg removed from one breast and 1.4kg removed from the other. They grew back slightly after the first reduction, but the impetus for the second surgery was really for scar revision; I had so much swelling after the first reduction that the scars were not aesthetically pleasing. I also had a fairly botched job done the first time and my breasts were quite asymetrical.

It was very painful immediately after the surgery and quite painful for about 6 weeks. The scars are quite large (I had a traditional anchor reduction) although they have now faded to a pale line. I have areas of numbness on the sides of my breasts which I don't like being touched. Miss P is my third child and the first one I have successfully BF, but she has been comp fed from the time she was about a week old and I take Motilium to increase my supply.

Would you have the surgery publicly or privately? The wait list for public is loooonng and you also won't be able to choose your surgeon, but you will most likely be OOP if you go privately even with PHI.

    Any specific questions?

    I feel your pain xX
I have to wait for our waiting period to be up which is when my baby will be 11.5m old so then I will have to decide how soon I want it done and if I will be willing to wean as well.
Its exciting to count down towards something, my short term goal is to see a surgeon after i have lost 20kg and take their recommendation from there!!
