What would be your #1 destination if you were going to elope?

With a little bundle of love on the way, DF and I have started talking about maybe eloping in early Autumn before bubs arrives. There are so many choices - and I'd love to hear what you would all pick

    Would you go overseas?

What would be your favourite Australian destination?

    congrats!

You'd have to firstly check the legalities if you get married in Australia - in terms of the filling out of the forms etc.

My girlfriend got married in the grand canyon, with an elvis impersonator

For me, Venice, Vienna, New Orleans or San Fran.

If you have a bub baking then I wouldn't go anywhere that you would need to consider vaccinations etc. I would probably go somewhere tropical in Australia, or somewhere like Japan (somewhere really different that I STILL haven't been to yet).

If money was no object I'd go back to Mauritius. The resort I stayed at did weddings (as they all do) and oh my lord the weddings looked so beautiful, I almost cried when I saw the wedding couples having dinner on the beach in their little grass hut looking over the sea and sunset.

Thailand. A nice little island that's quiet & private (ie not Phuket)

If you asked my DH, he'd say Vegas.

I wish we had done that. In fact I wanted to but decided against it as I wanted my Nana there. Her health is not the best so she can't fly anywhere.

In May next year my Sister is getting married in Hawaii - on The Big Island. DP and I will be attending and I'm so looking forward to it - it will be a sunset beach wedding. Very simple.

If I were eloping I'd pick Vegas. It's my favourite place (I've been 5 times so far). But even though I'm an Elvis fan I wouldn't get married by an Elvis impersonator. Don't know why not though.

    I love new caledonia.

If in Oz, so many options ... a rainforrest in Tassie, or the beach at Lake Mackenzie (Fraser Island) or the chinese gardens in sydney, or somewhere beautiful in the kimberlies ... so many options!

If money no object Paris or Venice.

DH went to a mates wedding in Hawaii (I didnt go as I was 32 weeks preg and toddler as well, so was a boys trip with 4 mates) This pics were stunning and they all had a great time and even for males said was a beautiful wedding!!

In Australia I would say the Whitsundays on an island.

    Happy Planning

If you want to go overseas or fly make sure you do it before the flying cut off time.

I love the Rockies in Canada, Port Mcquarie, near the lighthouse overlooking the ocean or anywhere in the Dandenongs in Victoria

I'm with Sopdet - New Orleans!

Or Hawaii. Dh & I are planning to renew our vows in Hawaii for our 10th anniversary.

As for in Australia, I love where DH & I got married - On Flynns beach in Port Macquarie. We just went back up there on the 5th for our 6th anniversary and it was absolutely gorgeous. It was so beautiful watching our little ones play on the beach where we married.

the snow! open fireplaces with a white landscape. Well that was our plan, but it didnt turn out that way entirely!!

And as much as I would love the idea of a tropical beach wedding, I just bring myself do something that has become so popular (seems to me every second couple that elopes or picks a destination wedding heads for the same areas, making it feel like theres no real personality to the event, but jmo)

Staying in Australia I would have to say in the karri forest down at Boranup near Margaret River. Such a beautiful, serene place.

Overseas I would get married when DH and I went for our honeymoon - Royal Davui Island in Fiji. Extremely limited numbers allowed on the island and just such an incredibly romantic place. Beautiful little secluded tables overlooking the ocean and the sunset. Perfect.

We eloped - Vegas, with Elvis. Best Wedding. EVER!

I would do it over and over again.

Pals got married in Fiji, it was beautiful.

In Australia...Cable Beach, Broome or up in the Daintree.
