So I'm in the MGP at my local public hospital where I see the same midwife for all care. I was also lucky enough to go through this program with my first son I have an appt tomorrow at the hospital with an OB which is a new thing they're doing for all women at 36 weeks. It's pretty new as a friends of mine who gave birth in August didn't have to attend this appt at the hospital.
Does anyone else's hospital have this? I'm just wondering what to expect, I've never seen an OB and feel a little nervous as it's not what I'm used to
I had a similar appointment when going through the old family birthing unit 7 years ago. It was basically a BP check, fundal height, etc. Also a chance to discuss concerns and to make sure I was still low risk and suitable for midwife led care. I was so scared I pretended I had just walked really far and was achey instead of having the SPD that made me barely able to move, but it was fine and I only saw a junior doc for a few minutes so he didn't notice me wincing. All in all nothing to worry about
Nothing major hun, they'll just basically do what the midwives do. Mine kust does my bp, feels where bub is sitting, measures fundal height and usually checks bubs hr xx
