    Will they cash it?

My Dad sent me a cheque for my boys so they can buy themselves some toys.
It is written on a cheque from his Australian account but out of habit he's written pounds instead of dollars on the bit where you write the amount.
Also he's put my husband's family name instead of mine . I think he does it on purpose because I have returned cheques to him before to write my name so he knows I never changed my surname. I guess I will have to dig out our marriage certificate. Can I get the bank to record both names so I don't have to go through the rigmarole every time he sends a cheque?

Re: the two names - It depends on your bank but most likely it will be up to the manager, and will probably be a branch specific arrangement.

Re: pounds instead of dollars - again depends on your branch manager, and also the amount of the cheque. I think you'll be lucky if they take it cos it could cause issues when the cheque is being processed by back office. But I could be wrong, your manager/bank may have a way around it *fingers crossed*

Not sure on the pounds/dollars waiting for this to happen from my side of the family lol. With the surname I don't have my DH's surname and a lot of my family & his family don't remember. Our bank accepts the cheques I have received with his surname. We bank with the one of big four thats blue
