Question Experiences with IMSI and/or PICSI?

    Hello,

I'm in the UK and we have had two cycles of ICSI so far due to severe male factor issues. We have no known female factor issues.

The first cycle was 14 mature eggs with no fertilisation. The second cycle was 14 mature eggs with two fertilising, one abnormal and the other produced a poor grade embryo that didn't implant.

I have been lucky to find a clinic that is trialling both IMSI and PICSI (no UK clinics do PICSI and IMSI is very hard to find) and although i have been told by my previous clinic that they won't help us, we really want to try both procedures anyway.

I was thinking that if these procedures were available anywhere it'd be Aus, so i'm hoping some of you ladies would have had them and could tell me if either or both of these produres helped your situation?

What was your fertilisation rates and embryo quality like before and then with the IMSI or PICSI?

Thanks a lot, i'd really appreciate some stats as i just can't find them anywhere.

    Louise xx

    Hi Louise,

I'm no expert, having just started my first round of ISCI, but as far as I understand, Sydney IVF (known as Genea now) does it. I understand it's more common in the US, though.

Good luck with your ttc journey.
