    My cat is freaking out!!!!!!

We have a cat, she is about 1 yr old. Shes always been a bit different, just kinda cooky, thats why i love her! But shes just a kitten really, playful. curious, boisterous. But something has spooked her BIG TIME. normally in the mornings whe i let her out of the room she spends the night in, she bolts to the door for me to let her outside. The other morning she just sniffed the house, creeping around like she could smell something in the house. she will NOT go out the front, ear flat, back up. she just spends the day creeping round the house, sniffing, looking spooked, and jumping, literally jumping off the floor when ever something moves in the wind or there is a tiny sound. We have just spend a month battling to keep her inside as we moved house, she was tearing the house apart so we started letting her out about three weeks ago, shes LOVED it!! never went far, just out on the step, or into the next doors garden. but loved being out!!! she even used the litter tray that i have in her room incase she needs a wee at night and she pooed in it, she hasnt done that since we started letting her out!

I thought another cat may have come up and sprayed around the door, but i washed it and sprayed it with cleaning stuff and scrubbed it. she wont go out,i walked around out side with her, showing her, she was panicking, twitching, scratching, this it NOT like her atall. I sat out side with her and put her food out there and stayed with her while she ate, but she came in as soon as i left her. I dont know what to do, whats wrong with her!??!?!?!?

Its actually making me really sad to see my silly crazy kitty so scared of something.

Quite possibly. or maybe she is just going through a very weird crazy phase. Sometimes its a mystery why our pets act the way they do!

My mum had a cat that was petrified of strangers he would run and hide if he saw someone he didn't know. He was like from a very young age up until he went missing (we suspect he went away to pass away)

Is your house raised at all?
I know when we get mice or rats or other cats (and snakes actually) Moe will do something similar. What did you clean the front door with? it can take a bit more than soapy water to wash off cat smell especially if there is a Tom cat roaming and spraying.

    Is she fixed?

Worst case scenario if the behavious keeps up by the end of the week, I'd take her to the vet and just make sure her eyes are ok and make sure she is not showing signs of any other type of illness.

To get the smell of other cats off things you really need to clean it with a cleaner that has enzymes in it....The vet told us washing liquid with enzymes was the best.....we used to have a cat that pee'd in the house and I can tell you that the other two cats we had always knew where he had pee'd if I cleaned it with anything else...Cant remember the name of the one I used....but it might be worth a try....

straight Vinegar is best to clean any pets smells- it takes away those scents that their super nose can smell. It does sound like she had a run in with another cat ;-( the poor darling, & yep my cat has had one & would not leave her bed for over a month, only to got to the food, water, litter. I took her the vets to rule out any injury but it was all mental :-0
