Ok so I have been having afew issues with my contraception. I did a HPT just over a week ago and there was an extreemly faint 2nd line. On fri I got what I thoght was my period now A) it was a week early and B) it lasted 2 days. Also my contraception has been making it more brown in colour and more like spoting (TMI) but this 1 was very red and though it wasnt much it was steady. I have no idea what it could be

i think that will be the only to know for sure either way. maybe santa has sent you an early present

I agree you really need to do another test to confirm whether or not its the reason for the odd bleeding.

I've had weird periods that start and stop when on BC.
If it's early it sounds reasonable for it to be redder than you're used to (hasn't had time to age). If you've been around anyone with theirs it could have helped to override your BC. It used to happen to me sometimes.
Another test will answer one way or another.
