    Bosch.

You can't go past German engineering. And mine does a 15min wash/freshen up which is awesome.

DD has a 10KSamsung combined washer/dryer and it's not bad to use.

I will PM you a site, as I'm not sure I can put their name here, where you can compare brands.

I'm subscribing, as we need a new front loader and can't afford Miele, which I'd prefer.

Our Whirlpool is pants. It's only 5 years old and it's rusting & temperamental.

Definitely DO NOT get a Whirlpool. I have a newish one and am trying to devise ways to blow it up so I can get something decent. I have Miele kitchen appliances and if your budget stretches to it, I would definitely go the Miele washing machine too. My SIL has one and I have serious washer envy.

LuluHB - has the seal on your Whirlpool gone mouldy? I've had mine replaced but still can't keep the mould away. It's gross. I clean it, I make sure it's aired, I do hot rinses. Nothing works.

Do the Bosch ones get mouldy?

I have a Samsung washer/dryer combo and I love it. I never realised how crappy my old top loader was til I got this! The only thing is, when it dries it collects a lot of lint around the rubber door seal, even under it, so I have to clean it regularly.

I also have a Bosch which i am very happy with. I liked the 'extra rinse' for when i did nappies. It has enough settings to suit every wash type and it's not confusing like some machines. Gentle on clothes.
It is economic on power too which is just as important as water.

My only gripe is that it has no 'delay' function. Now this could just be a 'me' issue. Because my average load takes over an hour, i'd love to turn it on the night before to come on at 5 am, so that i can hang it out in the morning first thing. I used to do this with my old F&P top loader. My electricity is on peak (7am-11pm) /off peak(11pm-7am) so I delay the dishwasher to start after 11pm too.
    But that's my only gripe.

Olive- I leave it open too. Apparently it's common with the brand. It's really gross.

A google search of Bosch washing machine has them about $1200. Is this right? Not quite Miele prices, but still exxy. Still, you get what you pay for.
