Anthing I can do to increase chance of success with ivf?

Is there anything I can do, should do or should not do to increase the likelihood of success with my IVF(ICSI) cycle in Jan/Feb?
Any advice would be really appreciated - I SOOOOOO want this to work.

    Thanks.

Thanks Maruschke (and congratulations to you).

I am taking elevit - so I think that ticks the vitamins.
My diet is ok but I could always do better - so will put this in my to do list.
I've heard about accumpuncture but so far haven't looked into it. I have a nurse appointment next week so I might ask them about it. I'm going to a pretty holistic clinic so I think they might offer it or be able to point me in the right direction.

Really appreciate your thoughts. I seem to be second guessing myself all the time - do I don't I around everything. Aghhh so silly...

There is another one I was taking that improved the quality of the eggs. Something to do with bees... ugh my brain. I was taking a coctail of multivitamins.

Nothing2Lose knows lots about this, maybe find her?

    Best of luck.

    Hi Janie,

You found me! Or, I found you!

I am on my iPad so this is kind of shorthand....but, ideally, changes need to be made three months prior to IVF cycle (three months prior is when the egg begins to 'grow'). Still, it can't hurt to begin now.

Things which apparently help (I say apparently because I am still not UTD ) are -

    - full cream dairy (ditch low fat)
    - high protein diet (30gm each meal)
    - low carb, low gi diet (I struggle with this )
    - supplements: prenatal like elevit, coQ10, royal jelly, anthogenol, high strength fish oil, berocca (I also take a customized uterine tonic from my naturopath)
    - limit caffeine (some say no caffeine but I have one 'real' coffee a day). I don't drink cola soft drinks or tea at all.
    - no alcohol
    - acupuncture (although I have never done it on day of transfer which is meant to be best)
    - menevit for your DH/P

I think these are the main things...I will come back and add stuff if I think of anything. I think the thing to remember though is these things can 'help' but they can't overcome bigger issues such age and low ovarian reserve, autoimmune issues, etc, etc... As time goes on I really do believe if it's meant to be it will be.

    Good luck!

Thanks heaps - will look into some of those extra vitamins anf adjust the diet.

    All the advice helps.

I think anything that I can do to feel like I have some control of my destiny will be helpful. But I completely agree that falling is something which can be almost totally out of our hands sometime.

Perhaps 2012 will be our year!
