Ok so I'm on day 5 of prelabour and running out of ideas to keep me busy. I've been swimming, walking running after my DD's, resting, reading, watching movies etc.
Major nesting for me on both pregnancies...There is a photo kicking around of me mowing the lawns in 40+ degree heat...lol.
Then about 2 days before with DD2 I got quite tired and spent a lot of time just whaled on the couch, or playing with Charlotte.
During early labour, I went out to the local shopping centre and got a sandwich and went shopping. lol
During early labour with number 6, we took the other 5 to the local water front and walked accross to the local island during low tide, then i sat in the car with the kids while hubby went to the supermarket, then i came home and baked nachos for the kids, then we watched a movie, all while i had contractions, but i didnt let myself believe they were the real thing till it was almost time to go to the hospital...
Do some baking, make lots of food for the freezer, if you are crafty you could knit a baby blanket or shawl. Or you could try some meditation and visualisation, visualise your cervix ripening and opening like a flower and let your baby know you are happy for them to come. Other than that keep hydrated and get plenty of rest, you have a marathon coming up and you will need to conserve your energy for that.
I went and did the groceries with DH he pushed the trolley round while I put things that we needed in it and I carried with me a bottle of ****tail onions...you know the little red ones? (I read somewhere that another lady did this and her water broke so she dropped the onions so everyone wouldn't know her waters had broken...At the time I thought it was hilarious and the BEST idea but as I type it now it might have just been preggo brain??) I pulled out all the weeds in the front garden and watched the Lord of the rings trilogy....Hope everything goes well for you!! xx
I did much what you did ... walking, reading...took the kids to the park. Played games on FB. Can you get yourself a pedicure? or have a friend to give you one? Some kind of special 'you' time that you will find harder to come by after bub gets here.
