Hi, can any one offer advice on precautions that should be taken since having a haemorrhage between the sac and the uterus at 11 weeks. I am now 13 weeks and just had the scan which showed the area of bleeding still there. They tell me mostly the body should just absorb it back. I have been taking it fairly easy for the last 2 weeks. would like to hear other similar stories.
Hi, I had one picked up at my dating scan at 6w2d and they said too that it should be reabsorbed by my body. I did take it easy with resting as much as I could during the day and getting my DH to help me with things like pushing the trolley for groceries and mowing the grass. I've just had my 12 week scan and there was no sign of it and I've had no spotting or bleeding so my body has reabsorbed it all. Didn't affect baby at all. All the best!
Hiya, I had a moderate to large one at 6 weeks and was put on bedrest for a week. A few days after the initial bleed, I had another episode of bright red bleeding which freaked me out all over again. When I had a scan the day after the first bout, we were told that my body would either reabsorb the blood, it would slowly bleed and resolve that way or worst case scenario, because it was quite big, I would miscarry. After the second lot of bleeding, I would have a few days of nothing, then start bleeding old blood for a few days, stop for a few then start again. We were told by our fertility clinic that as long as it was brown blood, then that was ok, though it is pretty disconcerting when every time you think the bleeding has stopped, it starts up again. I was having scans weekly, bleeding on and off the whole way with little change in haemorrhage appearance on the scan but am pleased to say that at my last scan (about a week ago), there was no more evidence of blood - YAY!!!!! Though in saying that, when I had a scan at 8 weeks, the sonographer remarked that she wouldn't be surprised if it was still there in two months so they can hang around and everything still be ok.
It is damn scary and even now, I am taking things really easy i.e. no heavy lifting, resting when I feel tired, I have only just started going for short, gentle walks again (I was running approx 30 - 40km a week before I started stims for the ivf cycle that got me pg) so basically being a bit of a couch potato as much as possible. Don't freak out heaps if you do get episodes of brown spotting - as I said, I had it for a good 3 - 4 weeks and from everything I have read about subchorionic bleeds, this is perfectly normal.
Good luck for the rest of your pregnancy, hope things resolve quickly to give you peace of mind and hopefully let you relax and enjoy your pregnancy
Hi, Thank you both for your responses. Melissa - you really put my mind at rest. I read your post last night and then woke at 3am with a bleed (brown blood) which i have not had in over 2 weeks, but was reassured by your story.
Having said that we went for the results of out 12 week nuchal scan today and were told we now have 1-96 chance of down syndrome and our GP is sending us on for a Amniocentesis. This pregnancy is certainly been one stress after another. But thanks again for your advice.
