    Contractions but not pregnant

It is really weird, I have never experienced anything like this (except in labour)
I am sitting here having what can only be described as contractions yet I am not pregrant.
I have been timing them for the last 40 min and they are 2-3 min apart lasting 1-1.5 min they are getting a little stronger.
My belly is soft and flat Inbetween the 'contractions' but during them it is rock hard and bloated.
They are worse standing up and I have taken neurofen for them.
    It is quite Bizarre.

Are you sure you aren't pregnant?

    (I'm watching "I didn't know I was pregnant" ... It's totally possible. XD)

Erm... I'd be heading to the ER, it certainly sounds like contractions. What an interesting surprise!

They are still there about the same but worse if I walk around.
I would really be shocked if I was pregnant, I did do a pregnancy test a few weeks ago because I felt like I had what where symptoms (even though it was almost impossible) and it was negative.

I might try and get some sleep and see if they go away.

One of the girls on "I didn't know I was pregnant" was getting BFN too and had to have a BT to confirm pregnancy while she was in the throws of labour.

I'm totes stalking you now XD

Quick, organise a PIG just in case!

If they get worse, seriously, go see a doctor. Even if you're not having a surprise baby, it could be something very serious...

Wow, I would go to the ER if I were you. My gall bladder pain came like contractions in the early days as did my abdominal pain from IBS. Best to get checked out as it could be anything.
Helle - I love that show! My best friends Aunty had a I-didn't-know-I-was-pregnant bub.

My endo attacks feel like contractions. I dunno, I would get checked, that's just weird! Remember that later on in pregnancy a pg test can easily come out neg :/.

Yes, I have had contractions when I was not pregnant. It was a burst cyst. The fluid leaked onto my intestines causing them and my uterus to contract just like labor (felt like transition). It was absolutely awful. It ended when I "birthed" the contents of my intestines and bowel, I am not kidding.

    Thanks for stalking
    Well no surprise baby
They continued for awhile after gng to bed but I feel asleep and they must have tapered off.
I feel heavy and tight in my lower abdomen but no more pain this morning.
It will be interesting to see how the day goes.
Weird...I think a visit to my GP may be in order.

I know this sounds weird but I wonder if it could be a mental thing, it is my ds4 birthday in 5 days and the week before his birth and birth was quite traumatic (stitch, lots of contractions and birth at 25 weeks) so I wonder if this is some psychological response to those memories. A long shot but just a thought.

Marushke that sounds very painful and scary, how terrible you had to go through that

A few months ago my mum had contraction pains. Went on for quite a few hours every time a "contraction" hit she would have to stand up and bend over holding onto the arm of the couch. She had to breathe through them too ! She said it was just like being in labour. Pains tapered off enough for her to go to bed. It was horrible to watch and I was ready to take her to the hospital ! Not sure what it was but we assume it was bowel related...

Glad you are feeling better ! Probably worth getting checked out - especially if it happens again !

    hmm strange
    could be bowel spasms?
they are nasty and can be like contractions
maybe try some buscopan next time to see if it settles them down

Thank you for all the ideas and suggestions.
I have had them off and on all day but not so intense...more like braxton hicks.
Maybe it is just a weird thing possibly bowel related but nothing was out of the ordinary in that department today.
I still feel bloated and heavy.

A surprise full term baby would be nice though
