    Talking Hair curling......

Help me choose a curling iron please!

I want beachy, soft waves sometimes and at the moment the only way I get them is a headband overnight method I came across - works awesomely but you need to be able to sleep on it or leave the band on all day long before going out - totes impractical!

So what is the best way to get gorgeous waves! Big iron? (Pretty sure a small one will give ringlets which I don't want!) Triple wand iron? One of those tube things you wrap your hair around? A straightener that does both??

    Hit me with your suggestions!

I have a large barrel curling iron and it gives me dita von teese curls. BUT it's the way my hair is cut and how it curls naturally. So it does depend on your hair.

Hair is dead straight but takes a curl quite well with product. When it was shorter I was able to scrunch it while it was drying to make it sort of wavy haha (sounds SO 80's!!)

Check out the vidal sassoon sight they have some great ways to show you what you'll need. Also you tube it up. You could probably get away with curls like that with socks

And no that doesn't sound 80's I do it too still

The trick to a softer curl is to only curl (with a wand or curlers) from around half way down the head or just on then below the ears. Don't wind too tightly and make sure there is lots of hair per curler or tong. This stops hair getting to tightly curled. Don't put any setting or styling product in yet. When finished softly and slowly brush out the curls with a paddle brush - a very wide tooth comb may also work. Once finished and the hair has 'relaxed' a little you can put a small amount of spray or setting lotion in

I very occasionally use my GHDs to curl Iz's hair. Depending on how much hair I concentrate on, and how slowly I do it the curl is either a real curl or a soft wave. Having read about Cloud9s I think I NEED some

    Tanster - try this

Viddal Sassoon - Wave envy - i swear by it and my head is dead straight, fine, it really works.
    You get beachy waves.

Also have a triple barrel which does the same thing.

U can buy from shaver shop (Wave envy), its on special, 49 bucks i think.

I cant stop raving about these gadgets..

Ohhhh thanks hun!! There is one on there too called a Wave and Curl pro or something that has both the triple barrel and a tong set attachment - that might be good! Might have to go and see if there is a Shaver Shop at Donny - I still have vouchers from Christmas!
