Just wondering if anyone can recommend any Pest companies to spray that is safe when you are pregnant. I am 29 weeks and feeling paranoid but there are just so many creepy crawlies and ants around that Im feeling paranoid to not get it done. Then I think is it better now to have it done before I have a newborn??
Personally, I'd rather deal with ants than the chemicals from fumigation, but it depends on the problem. If you have an infestation, i'd go away for a week or more when it was being done. Note, I am completely paranoid about things like that though.
Creepy crawly populations often seem to go down in winter so maybe if you can hang on till then it will get better.
Ants are usually foraging for food so if you can reduce the amount of ant food you can reduce the number of ants.
Personally I would wait and/or use other pest control methods. For ants you can get ant-rid baits which are borax based and quite effective. For other critters look at your access points, eg maybe keeping your fly screens in good nick can help.
Lemon oil is good for stopping spiders. You can wipe or spray a mixture on your window sills/ledges and around doors. You can use it outside on your eaves and around pergolas. Spiders taste with their feet so won't nest where they taste the citrus.
I personally wouldn't go the pest spraying while pg with a developing bubba in there, a very vulnerable time.
