Back to f/t work after having kids......

When did you go back to work full time?? I am part time now but with our sea change looming, it's looking like I will have to work full time again a year earlier than I had planned. I always thought I would work part time up until both started school but now it looks like I will be going back 4-5 days next year when DD starts school, and DS will start school the following year.

I have been a bit spoiled and know everyone is different but just wondering how old your kids were when you went to work at a minimum of 4 full days a week or more!

    TIA

I'll be going back 4 days a week in 5 weeks. DD will be 8.5 months. I'd love to go back part time, but unfortunately it's not an option with my job. The best I can do is one day off, and maybe when I've got that down work one day from home.

What I'd love though, is to find someone to jobshare with me!

DD was born in May. I went back to work full-time in the July, so about two months.

I would have killed for longer....

You know I'm on mat leave at the moment but when I work I do 3 days a week. I will be going back to 4 days a week when DS1 starts school & DS2 will be in kinder (so roughly 2 years). That all depends on budget though. I could find myself back sooner.

I won't work full time again (or until the kids are nearly finished school) as full time nursing is so hard and you can go weeks without having a day off with the kids as we work so many weekends and that is something that neither DH or I want. And you can also do a stretch of days up to 10 days in a row - not good for family life.

Best of luck with your decision hun. It is so hard finding that right balance.
