    Face cream/moisturiser??

Pregnancy is drying my skin out terribly (along with my hair, nails, everywhere....)

I've decided I need a good moisturiser for my face. Something not too expensive, and not anti-aging (I'm only 20!).
Something I can put on after I remove my makeup and go to bed

Also, I have incredibly sensitive skin.

    I desperately need something.

    Ideas, please?

Moo Goo! Full cream is lovely and perfect for before bed and under make up! Not too excy for the small pump pack either - maybe around $14 and it lasts a while.

I use the Olay Total Effects cream, its about $30 and it lasts me about 6-8weeks. I have very dry skin and it makes my skin feel lovely.

Moogoo full cream here! I love it, I have extremely sensitive skin and it's the only moisturiser I've ever used that doesn't make my skin tingle and irritate me.

Moogoo, Avene, Aveeno, Trilogy all do basic moisturizers good for sensitive and dry skin. Also try rosehip oil- if your face is needing extra moisture you can apply this sparingly to damp skin underneath a cream.

I'd also be careful about what you are using to wash your face- soap is a huge no-no and I can't even use Ego wash on my face. I would make sure you are using a gentle milk or cream cleanser- just make sure you remove properly at the end of the day so you don't block the pores of your skin.

Thanks ladies, off to get some Moo Goo, you've convinced me.
Lady Love: I had bad acne has a teen (not now, only occationally have the odd one or 2 come up) but I've always use a Clear&Clear cleanser in the morning and Nivea or Clearasil Overnight at nighttime.

Charlotte i can get dry skin occasionally also. I find that for me it's around the time of ovulation (even when i wasn't getting my period i could tell by this). And during these times i apply a little more than usual. It definately helps having a good moisturiser though. I restocked yesterday and this time around i actually got the MSM cream, i had just finished a tub of Full Cream. I'm a good 10 years older than you so for me it's time for some anti-aging help. The MSM doesn't smell as good as the Full Cream though

Hope you like the Moo Goo

Im sure you will love it!! I also use a St Ive face scrub in the shower, if I am feeling dry it will exfoliate the dry skin then I put the cream on top - I have more oily than dry skin so you might want to use something really gentle (a handful of brown sugar is meant to be ace - never tried it though!)

Also for anyone avoiding J&J or products with SLS - Aveeno is made my J&J and although claims to be natural has SLS and other nasties in it.

I use Neutrogena oil free moisturiser as I break out with heavy moisturisers. I've been using it for years and it is really good. It's around $13 for a 300ml bottle and that lasts me about a month or longer.

Charlotte I suspect Clean and Clear would be way too harsh for your skin at the moment- it would help dry it out even more. Not sure what Nivea cleanser you have but if it foams it is possibly adding to your dryness especially if you see sodium lauryl sulphate on the ingredients - this is a generally harmless foaming agent but in SOME people it upsets the protective layer of the skin causing dryness or irritation.

Your skin actually sounds like mine a bit. I had cystic acne as a teen and in my 20s it cleared up completely but remained oily or combination. now I'm pregnant my skin is really dry too. but since you are only 20 I'd avoid anything too rich in case you do break out again. I've used and love the MooGoo Skin Milk Udder Cream which is rich but not clogging and a tad lighter than the full milk version. It's such a great product. I also think you might really like Trilogy which you can get in Priceline and many chemists - its a natural skincare line full of nutrients and antioxidants which will protect and nurture your skin- basically make it stronger and more tolerant of environmental and age related stresses. Trilogy is a little more expensive than say Nivea but still reasonable and lasts well. They do a gel cleanser which is lovely if you do get the odd break out but need something non drying and gentle... Plus a great range of moisturisers .... Oh and they have a range specifically for sensitive skin though most of Trilogy would be tolerated by sensitive skin unless there's an allergy to a specific ingredient.

I use the moogoo anti aging cream. Mostly because I find the full cream one too heavy on my face. It's really nice, I love it. I mix with a bit of sulkin rosehip too for a bit of extra nourishment (and to help get rid of some pimple scaring).

Helle going off track slightly... Yesterday when i got MSM they had no anti-wrinkle and i was desperate but i did also buy some Fish Oil, when i took it last year my skin was glowing (i have scaring too) and i really want to look like that again. I got a vanilla flavour one, it's ok (only just) to swallow

I take fish oil capsules too - before i was preggers i took fish oil and evening primrose oil- and over a long period of use I've noticed a definite improvement in the quality of my skin but also my eyes as I used to get very dry irritated eyes. Some oils tend to work better for some skins than others. Flax seed oil is another good one as is eating lots of avocado

I was taking flax seed oil (a little cheaper) last month but decided to lash out and get fish oil.

It's interesting- for me the combo of EPO and fish oil works better than fish oil alone so I can't wait to take it again after pregnancy.

Ohh that does sound good. Fish oil is ok during pregnancy isn't it? Is it the EPO your not taking whilst pregnant? I know it can be used to help things along towards the end so would it have this effect at any stage of pregnancy?
