    Help me decide please :)

Im not sure what route to take re: prams.

Dh was a sling babe n this next one will prolly be too; however I am investing in a capsule.
Option 1: buy matching pram for capsule and toddler skateboard thing, so I could still sling bub n put ds (will be 2.5) in pram if needed or bub capsule on pram n ds on skateboard.

Option 2: buy a double pram but they are heavy n im small so I think it would be awkward for me to get in n out of car. N it prolly defeats the purpose of buying a capsule doesnt it? Anyone had both.

Option 3: I have a 3 wheel pram that I hate and a cheapy stroller that I could still use with bub not in capsule (in 3 wheelerif not in a sling or for ds (either). Just let ds walk if bub is in it but rely on my sling for newbie.

I do plan on having a big family, so altho we don't have alot of money I am thinking long term....therefore looking at it now so I have 7months to get money for what we need/want.

Im going to throw a huge spanner in the works here and suggest that you rethink investing in a capsule. Particularly if you are small build and dont think you will be able to handle the weight and size of a double pram. I am small build and for #7 i got a capsule, should never have done it, i couldnt carry it, it was too heavy and my legs are too short to get it off the ground far enough. Needless to say i sold it before baby was 4 mths old and it had barely been used. I have 7 and i hadnt had a capsule until then and if im lucky enough to be blessed with another i wont buy a capsule again.

I recommend investing in a double pram, one of the babyjogger range or similar

Thanks. I was looking at the steelcraft orion which seems quite light. The reason I really wanted.the capsule was cuz I found it awkward to get ds over the extension strap, and now being involved in things like playgroup, swimming lesson, church etc, I thought the capsule would be handier to get bub out places if already asleep? Thought these newer capsules would be lighter n easier than the old school ones that you hire from ambos?

That was my reasoning behind getting one too lol, it backfired on me big time. I did have a peg perego one though (not old, was not even a year old since manufacture when i got it) and i think they are a little heavier than the ones you get from target etc, but the other brands dont last as long either (peg capsules you can have baby in till they are 12 mths alot of the time cos they have the length in them) which is why i went for the peg, that and i have a peg pram. I think i still would have had the same issues had i had a smaller capsule though, i just found it awkward and heavy. But if you want to give it a try, by all means go for it . Or you could wait till baby is born and see if you use the sling alot and what suits you then and purchase what you need accordingly.

I would second the double pram too. I had as my car/shopping pram the BJ city mini double and it was pretty light. Otherwise, just stick with a single with skateboard option, and take your sling out with you so that you can swap your poppets around to suit your/their needs. I"m planning on DD3 spending a lot of time in a sling cos I'll be doing lots of in and out of the car with kindy/pp drop offs with DD1 and 2.

You should be able to loosen the extension strap on your bub's car seat every time you put him/her in or out. just make sure you tighten it again before going anywhere. It was one of the things the kidsafe car seat fitter man told me and said that so many people don't seem to be aware that you can do that to make it easier.

Haha thanks for that. It had occured to me thats why I didn't get one for ds, but then I wish I had lol. I guess ill try it still n just figure out prams, thats really my main confusion.

As for adjusting straps, yeh my dad showed me how to do it, but I suck so didn't do it. I would've hated to be to be out with it loose n not being able to get it right again lol.

As for ur prams, are they similar to phil n ted style? With infant underneath? Im not a fan of how awkward it is to put a sleeping babe in.

No. I had a phil n teds and absolutely hated it. The BJ city mini double is a side by side, but its pretty narrow - fits through a standard doorway.

Hi there we opted for capsule for baby no 3 and while it is handy its really heavy we got the Sns unity not a great safety rating though also o still need to get dd through the straps you mention I'd I use it like a carseat. She is 7 months now and on the top straps it goes up to 12 kg.

Re prams we had a Phil and Tess I hate it fir reasons you mention newborn and toddler positioning, so we bought the bjcm double and it's great light turns with one hand fits through all doors I recommend it
