Whether its a bright pink or a black, I try to have something that stands out when I wear polish. It's usually mostly chipped away a few days later, but at least it stands out![]()
What kind of colours do you prefer on your nails?
Most of the time, mine are bright colours. Not fluoro, just bright and cheerful. And it's rare for me to have just one colour, either I'll do a french manicure effect with two bright colours, or I'll do one bright colour and then glitter polish over the top. I'm currently wearing 'Mermaid Green' with no other colour because I can't find my polish box and I bought this one today![]()

On my finger nails I like subtle, really pale pinks or purples, naturals or silvery colours, because I don't particularly like my hands or fingernails. But I like to be manicured.
On my toes I like brights or dark colours, like deep reds, black and midnight blues.
I only have clear, natural pink or french on my finger nails. (not supposed to have any at work!) But I love to have hot pink on my toes![]()
When I can summon the effort (once or twice a year hehe) it's usually subtle. Although I've busted out the purple a couple of times - that's pretty out there for me
I should add - if my nailes stayed nice, I'd probably do it more. But if I apply it at lunchtime, it's chipped by bedtime
How do you stop it chipping?
Is chewed ragged subtle or poppin'?
For fingers I prefer subtle (especially at work as not suppose to wear it there). Toes are always bright with red being a frequently used colour![]()
I love brights and I have about ten different purples.
I have a lovely smurf blue on my toes right now but I don't like it on my fingers so I'm going with a coppery gold.
To stop the chipping you really do need a good quality clear top coat. It really does make a big difference to the longevity of your manicure
My toes is where I will trial all those out there colours. I never have naked toes, its just feels so wrong to me.
With my fingers it depends on the length of my nails. I prefer dark or bright colours on short nails and if I have a bit of length I like subtle or a french.
Such a science to my polish habits![]()
I like poppin'!
Nails are deep reds, dark blues, purples or glittered. Love nail art too. Often I'll have 4 fingers on one hand one colour, and a different colour on the other finger. Do the opposite on the other hand.
Toes are a bit more subtle - sky blue, violet, bright red.
Fleur - Thin coats of polish, and wrap the colour under the end of the nail. Top coat (shellac!) really helps. Otherwise, touchups every couple of days. Make sure the nail is very clean before polishing too - if using dark colours, then a base coat (else the nail will discolour). If doing a lot of wet work, then gloves are a definate.
Red for toes always. DH freaked out the first time he saw me with natural toes - in having a pedi right now and I'm going bright red with glittery red over the top. Fingers, I've only just got up the courage to go colours - and they are hot pink and before that had 3 weeks of fire engine red.
I do my own shellac- so it's usually red or bright pink![]()
Toes are where I try out different layering combos.
I don't often wear any polish on my hands. I've been rockin' out clear these days. Lol.
My toes are always painted. I can't stand them without polish.
At the moment I've got a cute shade of purple. I go from dark to bright on my toes just depends how I feel.
I've always wanted to give a fluro pink or something a go on my toes but never been game. Maybe one day I'll give that a go.
My fingers are always subtle and natural colours, or just clear. My toes are always bright. I'm starting to struggle to comfortably reach my toes now which my girls think is fantastic because they're now "helping" me. Their idea of how mum's toes should look is a rainbow of bright colours. Gotten more than one or two pretty weird looks from people!
Bright bright bright!! Sad that i have tohave none on for the c/section they won't be pretty in all of my holding the newborn photos :P
Brights for me too, especially red.
In winter I like deep, dark colours.
Poppin' fo shizzle.
