What is a 'straw' of sperm?

To our delight, DH was able to give a small sample on Thursday at the FS clinic
We were told that if there was a sample, and any 'good' sperm, then they would freeze it for us. We weren't holding our breath that they would be freezing any...
Then I get a letter today saying they were able to freeze 3 straws of sperm! So we are very excited about that!

But how much is 3 straws? Is it only a little bit? Enough for a round of IVF? Or more?

Don't worry too much about quantity. My DH doesn't have sperm issues and he would seriously tell mee there was hardly anything in the jar sometimes when he'd give a sample but they would tell me after they washed it etc... it was a good result. Weird

    Thanks Em and Nic!!

And thanks for that too Rhi! Maybe/hopefully Dh doesn't have the quantity, but he has some good quality? I dunno, let's hope so!
Also, huge congrats to you too!

Well so far it seems that these first steps towards IVF are working out really well for us
I also just had a call from the FS clinic saying my CD2 bloods are perfectly baseline, yay go me! lol
