    Question for Stokke Sleepi owners

I decided to splurge a little on a second hand Stokke Sleepi cot. (I was actually leaning towards the Leander but a Stokke set came up at the right price first.) Anyway, it comes with the mini-bassinet kit but not the junior bed extension. I was wondering if any of you actually used the junior bed extension? Was it worth it? Or did you just go straight to a bed? Did you get the Stokke brand mattress or another brand?

(The logical thing would be to wait and see but the cot I've bought is in the discontinued cherry colour so I feel like I should try and snap up an extension while a few shops still have them in stock.)

I have the Stokke cot and love it. We got the bassinet conversion but not the toddler bed one. DS stayed in the cot till a couple months after he turned two. The only reason we moved him to a big boy bed was because we were pregnant and I wanted to use the cot for the new baby (wasn't about to buy a second cot after having spent so much initially). Personally, I wouldn't bother spending the extra $$$ on the toddler bed conversion. You can remove a side from the cot and it is big enough for them to stay in for quite awhile.

My DD has been in the Stokke with the bassinet conversion. We absolutely love it. she is 2.5 and still in it ( removed front panel to make toddler bed). Expecting bub2 soon so she will go into her "big girl" bed now. We did debate getting the jnr bed conversion, but decided it wasn't worth it 1.) price 2.) too narrow as a bed and she probably won't be in it for too long? 3.) would need to get new mattress - they are not cheap! 4.) DD actually wants a "big girl" bed now and not the cot. Congrats on your purchase - it's a great cot. and yes, I would get the stokke mattress.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'll just leave it be for now since we'll hopefully end up with a second child to use the cot in a similar timeframe (once I convince DH that is.)
