I have never really found jeans that fit me well. I have massive thighs and so the jeans are always too tight on the thighs, too long in the crotch and loose around the waist. Maternity jeans with the fold over top are okay, but as soon as I vary slightly in weight they become too loose to stay up...
In summer I live in 3/4 length black pants with a fold over yoga style waist.
So what should I wear in winter?
I've ordered a pair of dark grey cargo pants to try. Other than that I often wear leggings with dresses (is that still in? I have no idea about these things). Most mums that I hang out with wear jeans all the time so i'm after some ideas for wearing to play dates, shops etc. (At home I wear trackies in winter and tell myself that I'm going for the sporty look...)
I personally wear jeans or black pants and all too often was seen wearing trackies out and about
Lately i've bought some 3/4 black cargo style pants and they are extremely comfy so i might keep an eye out for something similar in a full length coming into winter.
I wear cargos or casual dresses and skirts with tights and wear boots or ballet flats. I do wear jeans but find they don't fit that well. Have you tried mens jeans instead of womens? They tend to fit better around the waist & not so high up....
Some of the more fashionable mums at DSs kinder have got these beautiful long loose but slighty clingy skirts.
I saw a very gorgeous woman in very wide legged pants with a kind of rolled over top (wide waistband maybe?). Looked great on her.
I wear long comfy but fitted maxi skirts (like has Lenny described), harem pants, and if it's especially cold I'll wear leggings under those as they're loose and usually thin. Shorts with stockings under is another fave for me.

Lots of options for winter! If you like the yoga three quarter type pants try a longer style for winter?
Do you like dresses? I wear lots of dresses in thicker more 'wintry' fabrics in winter with opaque tights or leggings and flats or boots. Wool, ponte, jersey, or a heavier cotton or linen blend.
Or maxi dresses. With dresses working for winter anything that looks heavier or cosier rather than flimsy works.
Thick leggings with tunic or longer style tops is another option.
Places like Seed and Metalicus have great stretchy skirts which would look great with tights or leggings. Like a tube or pencil skirt but in a stretch ponte type fabric - very thick and elastic.
Any other pant other than jeans? Tailored, wool, cotton, whatever.

In winter I live in tunics, leggings and flats or dresses/skirts with a nice cardigan/blazer, thick wool tights and boots. Flat boots are great and so comfy.
If you like cargos or fishermans/harem pants, as they're usually a bit looser they look great layered with different textures eg. a more fitted top and coat. Or as Ladylove suggested, a different type of pant with a structured fabric like chinos or heavy cotton, with a more flowing top? If they pants are tailored they should give you some shape but without you feeling uncomfortable/like they're a poor fit (oh boy, do I hear you on the jeans situation). They can be really versatile too, so you can dress up or down.
yep skirts/dresses with tights and boots. much nicer looks anyway and with a dress your whole look is decided! try a few styles for what suits you (wrap dresses, long, short, stretchy, clingy etc) and then get a few that you can mix and match.
metallicus is great, also vigorella is siilar with diff styles - both good as you can wash and wear - no ironing etc. Also Country road, witchery and seed femme - invest in a few staples and also some cardigans, jackets and you will be set.
Have you tried the ultimate jean from Katie's?
Freakin awesome!!!!!
I wear those or like the PP's- leggings with long tops and boots....
I'm loving the shorts over tights look- but worried that I'm a bit old for that
Leggings are super comfy- but you definetly need the right top to go with them.
I bought some stretchy woolen baggy jumper type things from supre (of all places) they look nice with leggings.
Well I hope they do anyway
