I got fluffy mail today and in it was IB SIOs for #3. The inserts in the SIOs seem to not go together very well - whichever insert is on the bottom can't lie flat because its too long to fit nicely under where the top insert snaps in ITMS.
Do they shrink when I wash them, and then fit nicely? They way they are at the moment makes it look as if there is going to be a little bulge either at the front of the back, which I think would be uncomfortable for bubs. I got the SIOs cos I figured they will dry more quickly than the AIOs, but if its a problem I'd rather see if I can send them back now before I wash them and swap them for AIOs instead.
They do shrink a bit but the amount of shrinkage varies quite a bit. I have some that end up being a bit small. I must admit I prefer the AIO's. I don't find much difference in the drying time.
Yeah, they will shrink. And then when they're actually on the shell is stretched out more around bubs so makes more room itms. I prefer the AIO's too though, didn't find a difference in drying time.
The shell will stretch out when you put them on, yeah, so they work fine.
I think they dry a little quicker than the AIOs and I use the snap-in bits as boosters for bigger nappies now DD has grown out of the IBs i bought
IB SIO's are the only non-pocket mcn's we've kept, I love them. I did find that there was a bulge when it was folded in my stash but for whatever reason, it fits perfectly when it is on DD1. We also use the SIO's as boosters for our pockets .
Yeah I found they shrunk a bit, plus with the shell stretched around bub they fit in fine. I personally prefer AIO's with a mini booster, they seem a slimmer fit on my dd. I think SIO's do dry a bit quicker though
as people have said the shell stretches out when on bubs and it all sits flat. most of our stash is made up of these, the AIO just werent absorbent enough cos the sewn-in layer is microfibre rather than bamboo.
Glad I found this thread because I thought the same thing. I got my fluffy mail, took them all apart to wash and was then like crap, they don't fit back together! I had figured when I have a little bum to put in them it might resolve itself. Thanks ladies.
The curve of bubs bum takes up the extra. I have about 9 or 10 extra inserts for the sizes that I have so I could rotate dry and still wet (shells dried quicker) inserts through and they all seem about the same size - a bit too big when folded but fit just right when on DS.
