clense/tone/exfoliate/mask/moisturiser.... which ones
I'm looking into some products that i'd like to use. Whats your favourites and why.
My skin changes every other week so open to all kinds of suggestions.
I use mainly Estee Lauder. Its expensive but it does last really well and I love the feel of their products - especially the Idealist. I have extremely sensitive skin and find that a lot of stuff both cheap and expensive aggravates my skin so back in my single, childless days I found EL and have stuck with it ever since. THey also have lots of gift with purchase offers throughout the year, so I find I can often buy one product that I need, and get enough freebies to boost the life I have of other products until the next offer.
To exfoliate - a gentle, dry brush. On the face but also all over the body. Helps with lymphatic system and keeps skin firm and supple. I've only just started this
to cleanse - cold pressed organic coconut oil. Only use a little and it lasts for ages. The good stuff is about $20 a litre, so still cheap compared to most things from cosmetic companies. It is the best make up remover ever.
to moisturise - cold pressed organic coconut oil. You don't even need a different bottle
Another benefit of coconut oil is that it is antibacterial and anti fungal, so can be used for so many things.
I don't tone. I've never understood why one should tone. Doesn't skin firmness come from nutrition? Happy to be educated. I'm wondering if the dry brushing will take care of this as well.
Eta - also drinking lots of water, getting a good nights sleep, eating well, getting a little sun but not too much and not smoking do wonders for the skin. The body's toxic load can be seen in the skin. If you have a high level of heavy metals or bad bacteria, it will affect your skin. A good probiotic helps as well.
Hmmm. I am such a hippy

Health food shop. It can look solid or liquid, depending on the temperature. Coconut oil/butter doesn't go rancid which is great, because it changes consistency at about 30 degrees.
You can also buy cheaper at Asian groceries, but I don't know if they are cold pressed, in which case they may have been heated, which will destroy many of the properties.
Eating a teaspoon a day is good for you too. It's also better for you to cook with it than olive or canola or other vegetable oils. But that's another thread.
Oh yes coconut oil is amazing. I use it as a hair treatment, in cooking, take two teaspoons daily, for dry patches of skin, in smoothies, sometimes as a moisturiser. Good stuff. I have in the last purchased cold pressed from Indian grocery stores, not in the cooking section but in the beauty section. Lovely smell too
