Cycles are very different since d&c? +OPKs and O day?
After 4 years TTC, you'd think I'd know what my body is doing, but apparently not...
Since my d&c in January, I've had some confusing changes. Before the d&c I would get a clear temperature jump confirming O the day of or the day after a +opk. Since the d&c I'm either getting a delayed ovulation or a very slow rise in temps. Even FF can't make up it's mind - I get a different O day depending on which indicator I use and the cycle before last it kept switching between 2 different O days with each new temp I entered.
Last cycle I had 2 days of +opk (first time that has happened for me as I normally have a very short surge) but my temps didn't rise above the coverline until 3 days after the second +opk (and 4 days after the first). I'm trying to work out whether I am actually O'ing a few days after the surge or whether I'm just getting a slow rise in my temperatures. If I can work that out, then I can start to worry about what the heck it means. Either way, I'm worried it's a sign that something is wrong but hoping it may be a temporary thing caused by the d&c.
Going a step further, not knowing when I've O'd means I don't know if my LP is back to normal or still short. It was short last year while we were TTC because I was still nursing DD, but it has been over a month now since she weaned (and I'd had almost no milk left since Dec) so I'd like to know whether my LP has lengthened or not. Last cycle's LP was either 11 or 13 days. Last year I was getting 10/11 days but my norm is 14/15, so it's either still the same as last year or almost back to normal. Not knowing what it is also means I can't count back and work out the O day based on when AF turns up.
I'm hoping someone may have some insights for me? I'm still struggling with accepting our mm/c and scared that we'll never get another healthy pg, so all this uncertainty and confusion is not helping.
Hi hunni, couldn't read and not reply. I'm sorry for your m/c hun, it sucks I know . I'm sorry I can't really help you as I'm waiting for my first AF since my D & C last month. I hope my body doesn't stuff me around though. It would be so frasturating not knowing what is really going on...I hope your cycles get to have some sort of rythym again. Can you DTD every 2 or 3 days? I was always pretty hopeless witgh charting, I used to DTD regularly and more around day 13/14 as my cycles were always spot on 29 days.
Thanks for the reply Beata. I've been following your recent sad news and am hoping you have some happiness come your way very soon.
We did DTD enough to cover either O day. It's more a case of wondering if something might be wrong with my body that I should be addressing. I need to start back at acupuncture - I know she'll have an opinion on what's going on, but I prefer to have some idea myself first rather than blindly trusting others.
IDK, maybe this is a lesson in faith which I need to learn?
Hi Juniper, I just wanted to see how you are going on your journey in ttc?
I just had a mm/c at 12+3 and bubs passed at 8 weeks.
I just wanted to ask if you didn't mind ladies, how long it took to get your AF back and also the big scary question of when you found out what happened to bubs to stop growing?
I am not sure if I want to find out though.
I hope that you are understanding your body a lot more now too hun and that you are blessed with wonderful news. xxx
AF returned 35 days after the d&c for me. We found out the reason for the m/c at the 6 week post-op appt when we got the results of the chromosomal testing. It was something of a relief to know that the m/c had nothing to do with my body failing to support the pg, but upsetting and scary to think it was probably poor egg quality that caused it and there's nothing we can do about it.
Unfortunately I'm in the most confusing cycle all year. I was due to O this week and had a +opk on Monday night but then had no sleep Tuesday or Thursday nights, so my temps are all over the place and this morning's temp (5 days after the +opk) was ambiguous (could be a low post-O or a high pre-O).
Hi juniper
After my last miscarriage my cycle was all over the place.
I started acupuncture a couple days before AF was due and it went straight back on track and I was pregnant the very next cycle.
I truly believe acupuncture helped me.
Good luck
Thanks Rach. This has been my second cycle back at acupuncture and have had success with it in the past, so I guess it's not working it's magic for me this time. As I mentioned, I had a +opk Monday night and this morning (Sunday) was the first definite post-O temp. I went to acupuncture Tuesday night because she wanted to see me when I got the +opk. I will see her again next weekend and get her take on what's going on. In the meantime, I'm frustrated as all heck...
