    Weird things keep happening.

DS's battery operated toys keep going off by themselves. I think I posted about this months ago, but eventually we explained it away with various logical explanations. Like that the toy might be faulty, it was only one toy..... and it didn't happen very often. So the "incidents" were forgotten.

In recent weeks it's started happening again. Two different toys are now playing by themselves at random. There's no real pattern. I've never heard them playing while in another room, or upstairs or anything. (they'd be clearly audible, our place is cosy.. lol) Someone has to be there to hear it, ITMS. Of course i don't know what happens while I'm asleep or out of the house, but when we're home, they only play when someone is in the same room as the toys.

My sister was helping with some of the baby care while we got our new routine down pat with my sudden return to work. She'd been out for a walk with DS one day while I was at work, and when she opened the front door and stepped inside, DS's ride-on car started to play music. Nothing was touching it, and all the windows were shut so it couldn't have rolled in the breeze and started up.

A week or so ago, DP and I were relaxing and watching TV when his activity table started up. It happened at least 6 times at random intervals over a couple of hours. In the end, we got freaked out and turned it off altogether at its main little switch. We discussed it a bit and joked that if the other toy (the car) started up next we'd really poop our pants. A couple of minutes later, the car went off. Once again, no windows etc open, nobody near it, nothing to bump it and set it off. We stared at eachother in disbelief, before I jumped up and turned the car's little switch off too. It was just getting a bit full on and we were starting to get creeped out.

Today while I was at work, it happened again. DP was in the kitchen, and DS was playing at the gate right there in front of him, nowhere near these particular toys. Again the car goes off by itself. DP says he got curious, and asked if his mum was here aloud. (She commited suicide over 10 years ago). Nothing happened. He asked if it was my dad. (He died when I was a baby) The music started up straight away. The song was 'The wheels on the car go round and round'. Even the particular toy is an ominous sign. My dad died in a car accident, but had always loved cars. I guess he likes DS's ride-on version?

DP asked a series of other questions and says the car continued to light up and play by itself every time he'd ask something and the answer was affirmative. It's all a bit freaky, TBH.

I've been told multiple times by various people who claim to be psychic that my dad is very attached to me, as he died when I was so young- and is always with me wherever I go. I've always felt a strong presence of types at various times of my life and any time we've sat down and tried to communicate with these presences, the messages have been loud and clear and always the same. Dad comes through first. Always. So in a way I'm not surprised that the things happening with DS's toys seem to be related to Dad. I believe it probably is my Dad trying to reach out and make his presence known again for several reasons. But especially the fact that it happened when my sister was here by herself, too. *shifty eyes* It's all very surreal.

So am I completely insane, or has this ever happened to anyone else?!

How drooly is Axel? We had this with some electronic toys DS had: his drool managed to set them off at 3am. Wunderbar. It was a ride-on too, as the battery thingy was in the right place to collect all the drool.

A year after we gave up on having batteries in it, I put some new ones in. Same thing happened. It is now battery-free (and in the loft).

I guess he's semi-drooly lol. He's only ever used his ride-on car a couple of times so far. He's still learning how to use it and if he does happen to notice it or play with it he sits beside it.

Interesting theory though! I might need to do some experiments

It went off again this morning when DP came downstairs to go to work..... Ooooooweeeeeeeooooooo *freaky music* lol.

Very interesting hun, there COULD be logical eplanations for it all but to be honest i think it's nice thinking it's your dad.
It's also nice of your DP to ask those questions, my DP would have freaked and smashed the toy into a million pieces

I think you need to go with your gut on this, what do YOU feel it is?
If it happens again in your presence can YOU do some asking, maybe one day when your home alone you could just sit down, relax and ask for a sign (don't be disheartened though if you don't get it) - see what happens?

I think it's beautiful though if it is your dad, that he has found a way to make a connection.

I believe that there is something going on. Not sure what, but I' e seen plenty of spirits in my short life and there is something happening.

Take it easy and keep us updated.

We had various toys going off and we found it was toys that were starting to lose their battery life were the ones that would go off... once changed they'd stop but that is just in our situation, yours could be something else............

ZF - I feel like it's him. I could maybe give it a go but I haven't done it for years, and TBH.. it's a bit freaky all of a sudden. I used to do it all the time and ask him to show me a sign and things would happen, (every candle in the room flickering almost completely out, then burning normally again as if there was a breeze but there's no possible source for it.... those types of things. Nothing dramatic or fancy though lol). I think because I haven't really been 'connected' with him for quite a few years now I've managed to freak myself out and not want to see the signs... ITMS. It's like I kind of closed myself off to it all because it was confusing and made me feel like a bit of a fruit loop believing so much in something I can't confirm.

Richichi- Ok now I'm slightly weirded out... Ok, more weirded out than before. The car toy is new. Like almost brand spanking new. Came in a box all sealed up new, so definitely hasn't been played with a lot in-store.

I wonder if it'll happen again tonight. So far nothing today. Neither of us has done any probing of any sort though either.

We were given a Bob the Builder book which had buttons to make different sounds. One night while we were watching t.v, the clapping button went off. We just thought that it was the batteries going flat. However, this went on for several months, at random times. Our 3 yr old started talking about his 'friend' Jessie. We'd ask him questions about Jessie and he could describe what she looked like and would often comment at random times that Jessie felt sad or something like that. We also heard him laughing in his room while on his own or in his sleep. Often, when DS woke up, the book would be going off, clapping and clapping until DH got up to check on him and then it would stop.
We'd tell friends about the book and they'd laugh, unless they were staying over and then they definately wanted the book far away from the spare room. We kinda got used to it going off and when my sister suggested taking out the battery, I was too scared in case there weren't any batteries in there!
After about 6 months, it stopped going off and our DS stopped talking about his friend Jessie. I think we ended up telling DS that if he no longer wanted Jessie around, that he could ask her to leave, which he did and there's been no mention of her ever since. I think most people would assume she was an 'imaginary friend', however, it coincided with the book going off, for the same period of time.

Three Graces - That's awesome! What an awesome story. When DS learns to talk, if he starts talking about his grandad I will be very intrigued indeed!

I was also going to suggest low batteries as that's what happens around here. Now you got me thinking maybe not all the toys have had low batteries! lol

It's happening again this afternoon. I just turned it on again after DP switched it off feeling paranoid lol. It was only on for 30mins or so before it went off. We carried on playing with Axel on the other side of the room for a few minutes. I suggested we leave the car switched on all evening to see if it goes off again. It went off immediately. My jaw dropped. Still not game to start talking to a toy car though, lol.

    The plot thickens!
