Im 23 weeks pregnant and lately I've been experiencing some strange stomach cramps. They only happen during the night when I'm asleep in bed. They literally feel like muscle cramps as opposed to general aches and pains and they only occur on the lower left and right side of my stomach. They tend to come on when I change from laying on one side to another and only last a few minutes before easing up.
Now for the stranger one....
I was laying on the couch the other night when the baby kicked so hard that a small section of my stomach muscle (to the left of my belly button) cramped up hard, instantly for a few seconds. I understand that they may not be possible but its the best way I can describe it. It was the shock of it that caught me off guard, I've never felt anything like that before and it completely took my breath away...
I've had a few more kicks that have felt like they've "threatened" to do the same but thankfully haven't.
I hope I don't sound like too much of a loony haha...Fingers crossed there are some ladies out there who've experience similar.

I used to get them occasionally - usually if I moved too fast. It was just muscle cramps and nothing to do with the baby though. Try eating some more bananas and making sure you have the odd electrolyte drink - helped me a lot. and OMG at you being 23 weeks already!
I've always got it from around 21 weeks. As Kirley said, I think it's just round ligament pain. I get it if I move too fast or walk around without resting for a while. It's just stretching, the extra weight etc. So shouldn't be anything to worry about. I sleep with a pillow between my knees to keep my pelvis more in line. Maybe give that a try if you're not doing it already & see if that helps to ease it?
I woke up to my first leg cramp this morning...oh my goodness, the pain! Between the SPD and the constant cramps I'm turning into a real barrel of laughs! My first pregnancy was an absolute breeze....those were the days hehe
Trill - With all the worrying out the way the weeks have started to fly past. I'm beyond excited, 14 weeks and she will be here in our arms!
