Hi Nimraand congratulations on your pregnancy! Are you still able to drink? If you cant you may need IV fluids to keep you hydrated. And are you throwing up or just cant eat?
Iam in first trimester ( 7th week) and like my last one its seems almost same.I can't eat anything, bread, rice or pasta, meat or yoghurt.sight of food makes me sick.
Even can't watch mater chef it :P
my taste has turned so bitter, sweet tastes bitter too and sour tastes so awful.my last pregnancy made me so sick and weak I was even unable to walk, I needed DH support for that.
I like eating fruits but sweet fruits makes my saliva problem worse ( during my last pregnancy it was a chronic problem and doc couldn't found out the solution and I had to take towel in my hand all day around)
I am sure other women would be in same situation too, what would you do to improve eating.
Hi Nimraand congratulations on your pregnancy! Are you still able to drink? If you cant you may need IV fluids to keep you hydrated. And are you throwing up or just cant eat?
I am not throwing up just can't eat any thing and water is the only thing feels so delicious at the moment I can't even drink juicescan also able to eat potato chips.this was the exact diet during my last pregnancy and suffered the consequences later in my pregnancy. so want to get this first trimester over very fast.
Nimra, i get terrible metal mouth when I am going through IVF due to the hormones. Acidic food helps - lemon, vinegar.
Try sucking on some lemon drops???
Also, regarding food, try some soup. Even clear broth. Or a milkshake with some protein powder and icecream and fruit. Try to eat something.....
Good luck! And, congrats on your pregnancy![]()
Thanks i would try some milkshakes with protein powder., I am lacking nutrition in my diet and definitely need protein
I luv to eat sour but I have got another disgusting problem of excess saliva if Iam eating anything sour or too sweet It becomes the disaster for me to control during last pregnancy I would spit Litres made my pregnancy experience a disaster![]()
Maybe try some nuts too. They have the same salt as potato chips (if you get salted) but are better for you.
Mix in some almonds and cashews, etc and just kind of graze.
I'm sorry you are feeling so horribleAre you taking a pregnancy multi vitamin to make up for your lack of food intake?
I would second what n2l says about grazing, and nuts are an excellent source of protein. Almonds also have loads of calcium so they might be a good choice for you. Crackers with a bit of cheese could work as a small snack and as an alternative to potato chips. Keep trying to introduce new foods and you may find one that agrees with you. I hope this improves for you soon.
