First!!!!
Hey been waiting for this thread to open.....
Cathie![]()
hey,
Little William is the best baby, he sleeps all night have to wake him for a feed. Last night we went to bed at 11.00pm and I woke at 5.00am and went holy @#$% better wake him. During the day he feeds stays awake for 1 hour than sleeps to next feed, he has already got himself into a routine..... I'm still sore going to see the DR tomorrow for a check up. Hope everyone is well and all your beuatiful babies and letting you get some sleep, sending everyone some magic sleeping dust.

OK, I think I have a spare minute before tea! I'm sure Colby will wake up now.....
Alright.... Colby Tay.lor born 5-7-12 at 11.50pm at 39+5w after a labour that went off and on for days, but is documented at 21ish hours. I honestly thought I was going to die. Yeah, I'm a drama queen.
Apparently contractions are supposed to last well over a minute, especially at the end. But, I never had a contraction that lasted more than 40 seconds, but my God they were intense.
He's a beautiful bubby. Had his check up today and his birth weight was 2.8kg, discharge weight at 36 hours was 2.6kg and he's already 2.9kg. Guess that means my milk is doing OK.
It's so weird having a 'real baby', so different to DD.
Colby is a day sleeper and a night-partyer. Going to try and fix that as DH goes back to work next week and I need to have a decent sleep routine.
Breastfeeding is going well now that my milk has settled nicely and my nipples aren't as sensitive. I enjoy it during the day, it's just the nights where I feel like death and he wants to feed for ages.
How long does the stomach cramping go for? Still getting some decent cramps every few feeds, but I'm hardly bleeding anymore.
Love my little man, I can't believe he's here.
subbing - and then I'll go O/due and have an August babe
Char - last time I remember having the cramping for good 2-3 weeks - but it made my uterus and belly shrink back at an amazing rate so the pay off was good!
I'll add the birth list as everyone subscribes to the thread!

I'm here!
Atticus William, born 4 July weighing 4.1kg via emergency c-section. Not what I had planned at all but in the end you just want them out safely. Still a little sore and probably overdoing it but that's life I think when you have a toddler too. Cathie don't know how you do it with 7!!!
Like Colby Atticus is more awake at night. Last night was the first he's spent in his own bassinet which was lovely (he's been sleeping in my arms which has meant I sleep half sitting up, not fun) but the trade off was he was awake every 45-90 mins rather than the 2-3 hours I get if he's in my arms...
Well he's awake now so better go.
I'm here too!
Emily Jane was born July 10th, weighing 3.95kg. Discharge weight was 3.67kg, not sure what she is now with all the cluster feeds she's been having the last couple of days, guess I'll find out next week when the mchn visits.
So far she's breastfeeding like a pro, has her days and nights messed up a bit but slept for 6 hours straight last night, I needed it but my boobs were so full and sore for it lol I'm producing so much milk at the moment I'm having express between feeds so I'm not in pain.
I have a 2nd degree tear as well, she was in such a hurry to get out once my waters broke, the stitches are hurting a lot but slowly getting better thanks to painkillers and an ice pack lol
Just waiting for her to wake up for her next feed before I head off to bed.
Hi there July mummies and bubbas!!!!! My wee girls and I will be jumping in to join you tomorrow :0
Our little girl joined us yesterday! 5lb11oz of pure joy, but she is in the SCN for a while.
Nice to see this thread filling up!!
Welcome to your little girl, Maruschke! I can imagine how petite she is. DD was 5lb 2oz when we got her home from hospital. I hope that your SCN time is short and sweet. SCN is pretty crappy at times. Remember, you are your little girl's advocate. You're the mummy.
Can't wait to hear of the twin's arrival, Melissa!!
Jenna: Emily is gorgeous! She's got such a squishy face! Sorry to hear of your stitches. I know what you mean about the boobies. Colby slept for 4 1/2 hours and I thought I was going to pop. Little munchkin was hungry but had to wait til my milk stopped squirting everywhere. I know I'm going to regret saying this, but he just doesn't cry. I woke up after 4 hours and he was just chilling in his rocker looking around. I can tell when he's hungry because he gets grunty and tries to suck his fingers. The only time he's cried was in hospital, and when he goes in the bath, even then it's just one or 2 cries. It's pretty confusing and I'm worried there's something wrong with him. He's a baby, surely he should cry more??
Lise: Hope you are recovering from your c/s. I hope, even though it was an emergency c/s, that it was a good experience. Feel free to vent here any time if you need to. It took me a long time to get past my c/s, but I know now it was for the best and I am OK with it.
Little Man is awake still and wants to feed again. Still having trouble with my left side. I wait until my milk has settled right down, but he just won't stay on.
Mel ~ can't wait to hear of the girls arrival.......
Charlotte ~ william only cries when he is hungry has pains in his belly or when he has done a poo. Some babies cry all the time and others only cry when there is a problem.
Lise ~ Hope your recovery of your c/s is going well. I'm on my 4th week still a little sore but feeling much better.
AFM ~ Feeling really SAD at the moment just crying for no reason, never felt this way before after having the kids. I did get my tubes tied when I had the c/s and now I really regret doing it....... I wish I just waited.
Cathie ;(
Awww, Cathie.![]()
Cathiesorry hun.
Melissa - enjoy tomorrow!!! I hope it all goes well for ya.
Hello July mummies!!! Baby Bethany and I will be joining you all in here - so excited to have a baby buddies thread
Just subbing so I can come in here and post properly later - it's so lovely to read how you're all going.
Be back soon! Xx

Congrats on you little girl Maruschke! Hope your stay in the SCN is short and you're home before you know it!
And congrats also to Ash! Hope you're settling well into life with two
Cathie, sorry to hear you're regretting getting your tubes tied, hope you're feeling better now. It's a big decision to make, and one I'm sure not helped by all the hormones xx how are you finding your recovery after your c-section? I'm a little sore still bit not doing too badly I think. I'm sure I'm overdoing it, as I imagine you would be, but it's hard not to with a toddler. I'm hoping to be able to drive in a couple of weeks, driving me nuts being totally reliant on DH!
Char, hope your first day at home without DH is going well! I've still got a few weeks of DH due to the caesar but I'm SO not looking forward to when he does go back to work and I have both kids.
Jenna, congrats on Emily! Glad to hear you're going well!
Well life with two is very busy, I'm really looking forward to when I've healed properly from my caesar, I really hate not being able to do stuff for/with DS1. He has been pretty good really but I jsy want to pick him up and give him hugs and he's just way too heavy for that. I had a friend over yesterday with a toddler the same age as DS1 and a four month old baby. Wile she was here DH ducked out for a couple of hours so I had to watch DS1. He Hadn't slept and was pretty feral - trying to bite, steal toysmetc, and I was trying to feed DS2 and deal with DS1 without picking him up. A total nightmare, all I could do was yell at DS1 which totally didn't work and after my friend left I just burst into tears at how on earth I'm going to cope without DS. I know it'll be easier once I can pick DS1 up but DS2 feeds for ages and then has to fall asleep in my arms for ages before I can put him down so I can see its just going to be chaos with lots of tears, mostly from me.
On a good note, with all the feeding DS2 put on almost 400 grams in one week so that's good. He's pretty much in 000s already and the newborn nappies are getting very snug around his belly
And last night he had two lots of three hur sleeps in his bassinet which was heaven! He's been sleeping in my arms every night as he refuses to,sleep,in hisnbassinetnso it was nice to have some space.
Well I can hear DS1 awake so better go. Hope everyone is well xx
Lise, that's great! Sounds like your DS2 is doing really well.
Not too much new to report here... just waiting for DD2 to grow strong enough to suck feed. Still expressing 3 hourly and have a great supply.
