Wedding Anniversary Ideas - Melbourne & Surrounds......

I need ideas for DH and I to celebrate our 9yr wedding anniversary next week. (Together for 15 years in August )
Some ideas I have so far are:

a wotif accommodation and dinner at somewhere like Mamasita - having said that we never sleep well at places other than home so so of defeats the purpose
massages down in Rye then a visit to the hot springs - it's freezing here right now and even though the pools are hot I think it might still be too cold to really enjoy the experience.
Queenscliff to Sorrento ferry - rug up and head across for the day/lunch etc.

That's all I've got! I can't justify spending a huge amount for dinner - like Rockpool prices for eg. but somewhere reasonable could work. Happy to travel up to 2 hours somewhere because we won't have kids with us, and won't have for the night, although I have Run Melbourne on the Sunday so am thinking maybe Friday-Saturday.

    Any other ideas/trips/ appreciated!!!!

Thanks Lulu sweets!!!! Cna't believe it and I really think the next 15 will just get better and better! He's just amazing!

Kelly really!?Was thinking it might be miserable having our heads out of the water and cold and freezing but might be refreshing I guess!!

Feeb they are redoing the Hepburn Springs pools too so will save that trip for when that is done and we can enjoy a massage and visit to the new pools!!

Ok so maybe the hot springs is the best idea! Ok so would a massage be better before or after the springs? Maybe before so we don't have to rush!

The early session of Tram Car and then a show of some sort. You could got to half tix and see what they have. Lots of good shows on in CBD at the moment.

There is a place in Mornington that has packages attached to a Japanese Spa and they arrange transfers. A GF recently went and looked beautiful. It's called Peppers Moonah Links for accommodation and Peninsula Hot Springs for the massage and treatments.

We have taken two days off work so we can celebrate ours (30th July) properly (actually I just told DH he had too...took too long for him to marry me, now I am going to make the most of it!!)

I would have done the hot springs thing... but am hoping to be PUPO then so..... no spas for us

    anyway our plan.....

    Carlton Brewery tour 10am.....
Check into hotel (Crown Towers) 2pm
    Gold Class Movie - 3pm
Tramcar restaurant 8.45pm.... (yeah.... the late session!!!)
sleep in - and then maybe spend the next day at the Queen Vic Market - we never get the chance to go in there....

Was looking for a cooking class or something fun and interactive and different - but there doesn't seem to be any running on a monday or tuesday can save that for another day...

was also thinking about the Night Tour at the Old Melbourne Gaol.... or something similar..... I thought it seemed like the opportunity to DO something different - that you usually wouldn't do....

Ok so we are heading down to the peninsula tomorrow morning! Going to have brunch somewhere near Dromana, then massages in Dromana, then off to the Hot Springs!!! Can't wait!!! DH has no idea what we are doing - I love surprises, especially as he keeps joking and going, it had better be fun and not boring Am really hoping the massages are good, last one DH got at a chinese massage place made him feel like cr@p for days!! We will head back home Saturday night as we have to pick up the kids and then I have my run on Sunday morning! Yay exciting weekend!

Rhichichi it was amazing! We had a gorgeous day up there even though it was cool - had brunch at 10:30, massages at 12 and then headed to the hot springs at 1:30 which I had luckily pre booked as it was crazy busy!!! We found a few pools up the hill that weren't so busy! It was a really relaxing gorgeous day!! Only things i would do differently are not get my towel so wet early on as I froze later and I forgot our thongs and our feet were FREEZING walking down from the top pool to the kiosk But other than that I would highly recommend it! I also booked massages at a place in Dromana and we payed about half of what they charged at the hot springs and they were gorgeous and massages were really great!
