    Cloth wipes: pre-moisten or spray?

Yet more beginner cloth questions from me in the lead up to my first bub. I've seen plenty of suggestions about using cloth wipes but wanted to get a feel for
    whats most popular:
For those of you who use cloth wipes do you pre-wet them or use a spray bottle? (I'm not game to use a bowl of water on the change table as I'm sure I'll knock it over.)
Plain water or tea or moisturizing concoctions etc?

I've tried the foamy wipes stuff you can get and TBH I prefer water. I just wet a couple in the sink before I start a change (in case it's more than I expected lol).
For out I carry a small bottle of water and dry wipes. Easy peasy.

We use water too, but have a shelf next to the change table and keep warm water in a thermos purchased especially for that job. The thermos keeps the water warm all day and there is no double dipping in the water, so all good. I would only think about adding something to the water if we had nappy rash issues but touch wood we never have.

Wow a thermos - your kiddies are lucky Mine just get cold tap water

I keep dry wipes at the table, if I need a wet one I grab a couple on my way to the change, as Kim does. Good thing is if you don't need them (I don't wipe at every change) you just chuck 'em in the bucket, no harm no foul no waste!

For out and about - I usually get about six, pre-wet them and then fold them up and use a Tupperware sandwich keeper to store them in the nappy bag. If I don't use them while I'm out, when I get home I toss them in the wash, same deal, no waste with cloth!

    Just water here.

I used a spray bottle, and at the moment am using a ridiculously overpriced spray from Aromababy - smells soooooo good and I love the soothing bits for a newborn squishy's tooshie! When its gone we're back to plain water though. For out and about I have a smaller bottle.

Not sure if you want actual wipe recommendations too, but I have two sorts - bamboo ones that are quite thin but easy to use and do a good job, and itti bitti ones that are lovely and soft but TBH I find them a bit bulky for such a tiny bottom - will probably like them more as she gets bigger

I keep a resealable container o water on my change table, so no accidents. Dry wipes next to it, I dunk as i go. Used wipes get wrapped in a clean wipe then tossed in the pail, so I don't reach for a handful of poo when washing.

I used plain wAter in the early days, but now I add a squirt of ecostore baby wash, the smell overpowers any other revolting odors.

If its cold, I top up the container with half a cup of warm water.

Out and about, I carry dry wipes, thin flannel ones, and wet as I go with travel bottle of Gaia baby moisturizer that I have added water too. It's 90% water now. Dirty wipes just go in the wet bag.

I used to keep a Pump bottle of water with a dash of Gaia bath wash in it and would just squirt it onto the wipes that I was using! Worked perfectly for us, and I made them with flannel on one side and terry towel on the other side!!!

Seems like everyone has their own little system. I'm looking forward to experimenting and working out what's best for me.

I can't believe I didn't think of using a sealed container for water! Thanks Audax.

Mmm, I'm just finishing an overpriced tube of Aromababy belly cream. I'll miss it when it's gone. Maybe I should make some new baby gift suggestions to my family...

Aromababy bum cream is luscious, and MCN safe.comes in a tiny jar, perfect for your nappy wallet. The baby wash is pretty nice, but ecostore is as good, and quarter the price

My system has changed quite a few btimes, but it's perfect now.

We started with a resealable container of water but my H kept double dipping so I gave up on it.

We then tried a spray bottle which was annoying and took a million squirts to get the wipe wet.

Then we switched to bubblebubs foamy wipes wash and I used that on dry wipes till we moved overseas- loved it!

I couldn't find foamy wipes stuff in the states so I tried some wipes solution in a tub with a bunch of pre-wet wipes.

Now I just don't bother and it's plain water. I put a bunch of wipes in a container and wet them. It's probably about 2 days worth of wipes.

The aromababy stuff is so beautiful. It was my splurge for this bubba given how much hand me down stuff she will have. Definitelty get it on your wish list. It is expensive, but it seems to be lasting a really long time.
