No real reason for this post other than to trigger my period into arriving. (I'm also going into town and getting an HPT in the hope that will make my period arrive too.) Any other sure-fire method of getting a period to arrive? Highly unlikely I am pregnant as DH is very strict on condom use and they haven't burst/come off/been *ahem* tampered with in any way. We aren't planning on TTC for a few more months anyway, so please don't suggest that I'm pregnant.
OK, so for the last year cycle length in days have been: 35, 30, 36, 31, 29, 30, 31, 33, 33, 25. So they are pretty much monthly and I can roughly predict them. I was expecting my period on or around the 25th of July. It is now August (OK, only just!) but meaning this cycle is 37 days and counting (on cd38 today). I usually have very little in the way of pre-menstrual symptoms, and have been completely surprised by a period before. (Hence the diarising dates.)
I do have a big, important, photographed for a glossy magazine wedding to attend tomorrow so will be using sanitary protection JIC - I am not ruining my expensive and light-coloured dress. (Plus it isn't appropriate to wear red to a Hindu wedding ceremony.) I've also tried having sex, but that hasn't worked either. And now I'm putting a "missing" ad on BB as well, that must work, right?
Any other ways to get a stubbornly late period to arrive?
Make yourself think youre pregnant Go buy a couple of pregnancy tests. I know when mine wouldn't show i would get my hopes up and sure enough not far around the corner there was AF waiting.
I've found out my EDD would be 3rd of April if I am pregnant (although I reckon 30/31 March - and I'm a better predictor than a machine, or was with Liebling!). I have stroked my belly and realised Liebling has no say in naming his sibling after a discussion yesterday. (Although Stormageddon already has a name.) I am wearing a maternity-esque dress and sticking my belly out right now. I spent time yesterday looking at pictures of developing foetuses and cooing.
i had this just recently! was on CD 38 before it made its appearance. like you i am very irregular but usually get it between 29-33. got some HPT's and kept getting BFN. we use condoms but its usually put on prior to "ahem" the end lol and we definately are not even close to ttc.
Oh no, I don't! I'm looking forward to TTC. DH has a really low libido and... well, I don't. So I'm looking forward to every other night for a couple of months LOL. And there is something about actually planning a pregnancy that appeals.
So, I have been to town and got some tests. Do I wait for Friday morning? And what to do about my smear test on Tuesday? (For those of you who know how old Liebs is... I had one while unknowingly pg with him! And I had severe TV rage too.)
Thursday morning for me - DH is home as we have a wedding to attend so no HPT today. I think I had a tiny spot of brown blood yesterday so here's hoping they can sit in my drawer unusd for a few more months! (I reckon explaining to Liebs that he will always be a big brothher, 6 years older than a baby and the baby will not be a grown-up first if we have one, may have done it.)
OK, so, didn't do HPT this morning as you shouldn't do them after drinking alcohol (had a glass of champagne last night). But even staying out til midnight with Liebling and doing some Bollywood Dancing lessons didn't help. Will do it at lunchtime as I'm a week late now. Felt a bit sicky this morning but there is a fluy thing going around, felt better after my coffee. But DS and I are getting excited about baby things: DS wants a little brother because then he can play with boy toys with him. A baby sister would play with girl toys and "Daddy would tell me off for playing with girl toys with her so I can only play girl things with her when he's not at home." I also learnt that DS's favourite colour is now yellow and not pink.
Should I eat the brie in the fridge while waiting for my test to give me an answer?
Plus, recent research indicates that condoms just don't work about 1.2% of the time (in a case of 243 studies where the condom was used "perfectly" and post-coitial swab was taken; yum): they don't split, come off, whatever - the sperm just goes through them. How I love time and the internet. I was hoping to find "pregnant when using condoms only if they split" or other such platitudes.
FB, we got pregnant this time using condoms correctly...so this baby represents that percentage. I'd definitely go for the cheese, I still enjoy a bit of soft cheese when the mood strikes me. Stalking!
I think English Brie is pasturised anyway. Although I will need to go cow-free if I am pg so that won't help me any. I'm going to be so annoyed if I am pg - I was really looking forward to the sex!

Should wake DS up soon. I know he went to sleep shortly before midnight after a very full day, but it is nearly 10am. And I went to the loo last 2 hours ago, do need to go again, trying to hold on for another hour so I can use the hpt...
Really want to find out before I have to tell DH. He has seen my excel spreadsheet of cycle lengths, including length of cycles, averages, min and max lengths... and therefore knows how late I am, but will wait to do the second test until he asks me to. Then we can find out together what I've known for ages. It will probably be another 2 weeks for DH to cave. Or he may wait until he sees me expand.
OR I may not be pregnant. That is the more likely explanation when I think about the statistics. (But I do want to pick out a name for Stormy!)
eta - did the test. not pregnant. that's good, but disappointing too.

Just an update. Still no period. Tiny bit of brown spotting (ie I hunted for it) on Weds and Fri. Fell asleep on sofa yesterday afternoon for a good half-hour (could be due to late night on Thurs though). Went to bed at normal time, got up for the loo at 4am, slept in until 9 (note - did not have excess urination when pg with Liebs, so this is completely new to me). Both yesterday and today my tummy felt a bit iffy before I put something in it, not a usual occurance (nor was it usual when pg before).
I really hate waiting for my period.
Does anyone know why you're supposed to do an HPT every 3 days until your period arrives? Is it to keep the HPT makers in business? Cos even if I did test again on Monday (unlikely as DH will be home), is it really going to make a difference? This is almost a 6-week cycle now, and I haven't had one of those since before Liebling was conceived.
If you dont end up ovulating, technically your next bleed will not be menstruation. It will be a breakthrough bleed. It will come when your body cannot sustain the endometrium. Alternatively, you will eventually ovulate and have a normal luteal phast and then get your period. Either way, the cycle starts again.
