Anyone planning their wedding at the moment?

Anyone else here who is up to their armpits in wedding decisions? Lol

I have just started planning my wedding for (hopefully) September next year and I'm so excited. There are so many choices and options that I have no idea where to start lol but I'm having fun daydreaming about it all!

I thought it would be great to have a thread where we could share our ideas and progress - anyone interested?

September is the start of the busy wedding season. I'd suggest starting with venue, celebrant, music and photigrapher as these book out quickly followed by florist and cakes as these tend to only take on a limited amount per weekend

Having a group of organisers is a great idea! As long as everyone gets along well though I guess lol. What kind of wedding is your sister having?

I feel like I've gone through almost every option as a favourite so far - garden, mountain lookout, church, beach, resort, eloping overseas lol. At the moment I love the idea of a really small, intimate group traveling with us to the cook islands to get married on the beach - the photos from over there are just so perfect!

Thanks for the tip onelittleprincess - my sister send me a special wedding planning notebook as an engagement present so I think I'd better start using it to get organised!

Lol I can imagine that I'll be like that too once mine is all over and done with. How did you stay organised with all your planning?

Not planning a wedding, but am deciding whether to plan a renewal of our vows ...

DH and I married young (very young - I was 21) and we're celebrating our 10 year anniversary (15 years together) in Jan.

Lots of our mates were there, but heaps of our friends are people we didn't even know back then!

So we're thinking of a renewal of vows, so we can effectively have a wedding with our current friends there.

But I *love* planning weddings. If it was commercial, I would totally be a wedding planner half the time, and a lawyer the other half of the time.

I have very happily planned significant portions of friends' weddings - and have lost count of the baby showers, hen's nights, kitchen teas and bridal showers I've planned. Not to mention birthday parties ... give me a budget and a 60 minute sit down with anyone, and I'm in heaven.

I was planning, but then fell pregnant so planning was thrown out the window until little miss makes her arrival and we can work out when to get married. Hopefully it will be next year sometime. Most of the inspiration I found was on a website called offbeat bride. Some of the weddings and ideas are pretty out there, some not so much, but it's basically all about weddings that aren't your cookie cutter big day. Even though my wedding would be referred to as offbeat lite (not so crazy, just a few different ideas) on there, I found loads of stuff to incorporate.

I planned everything down to the smallest detail ... I'm a slight (complete) control freak, and I sadly spent most of Con & Admin (a class) planning my wedding. I accepted that things would happen out of my control on the day, but anything that could be contained was.

Things happened on the day as of course they would, but the day was still perfect.

    Anything you're having trouble with?

*More* than happy to brainstorm here

Id love to plan a wedding again, we did ours in six weeks so we could be married and although loved it, was not what i would have planned "properly". We had lots of things go wrong, like the fact we had so little time we didnt get to test our music cd and it didnt work on the day so i cant even remember what i walked down the aisle to, but it wasn't pachelbel! I think it was vivaldi's winter, but cant be certain.

I'm trying to organize a wedding with as friendly a budget as possible (a budget totaling $0 is still a budget, yeah??) Lol.. It has to be as cheap as possible as we just can't afford anything else with 5 kids between us and a past marriage each.

It's proving very difficult but I'm sure we will get there...

There is potential there for wedding and divorce package deals lol.

I loved planning my wedding. DH and I are coming up to our 7th wedding anniversary this year. We got married on the first weekend of September. It was amazing. Loved every minute of our day.

Yes, yes I am... Got engaged in June and will get married in December. In between we'll be away for a month, so at the moment it's a stress getting everything organised.
Started with checking my colleague was available to do ceremony (She's a marriage celebrant), then got onto ceremony and reception location. Reception location was definitely the hardest as it is so soon and we don't have a large amount of guests (only 50). Then got my wedding dress, bought it off the rack and it fits perfectly, only needs some shortening.
Now getting quotes from florist. Working on invitations with sister-in-law and also save the date cards... Got some names ready to try for make-up and hair. Also sister-in-law has started on ideas for cakes and test baking Yummy!
    Happy planning for you guys!
