Nuchal Fold Scan - How long for results?

    Hi all,

Just wondering what the turnaround was for you to get the results back for the Nuchal fold scan and blood test?

I cant remember with DD? Did they send the results out to you personally or do you get them on the spot or did they send them directly to your GP?

I am going to have my scan done at a different place to my hospital and have to take any test results with me.

My booking in appoinment at the hospital is 2 weeks after the scan so am hoping I will have it back before then to take with me.

I was given mine there and then where I had the scan. They then faxed the results to my OB, who I was wandering down the road to see immediately after, and he just went through them again.

Its been the same for each of my three girls, so hopefully its a standard practice.

I had a bit of a wait for some reason, like over a week. I can't remember the reason why now but it seems that the bloods were the hold up & then they had to 'match' my bloods & scans.

I've always had the blood test a couple of weeks before the scan. The Scan place then feeds the NT results through to the blood test people, who come back with the final paperwork. With both DS1 & 2, we got the results 30-60 minutes after the scan.

Have you had the BT done yet Ali?

I've always had the BT done first, they send the results to the u/s clinic and I've gotten the results on the spot. The sonographer I use is an Obs, don't know if that makes a difference...

I had the blood test done couple weeks earlier and it still took my sonographer/dr a couple of weeks to get the results back. It shouldn't, but it did. twice.

I didnt have the bloods done with either preg (was no chance of termination even if results were permanent) but I always had the scan - and the scan man told me both times on the spot that everything was Aok!
