What to do with <ahem> stale chocolate cake?

Sad to say, but I have some chocolate cake (like half a cake! ) in my fridge. I know. What the heck is chocolate cake doing in the fridge you ask? Well, let's just say my Mum thinks storing all cakes and slices in the fridge is what you do. Except my family doesn't look in the fridge for cake.

So. Aside from cake pops or truffles, what can I make? Bit (okay, well a lot) time poor, and not really into cake pops. I might make truffles, if someone has a really yum recipe.

    Many thanks.

There's an old 50's recipe I have somewhere, you put stale chocolate cake and some other things in a blender and it makes an awesome chocolate spread. Sounds weird but it's yummy. If you want the recipe let me know! In the meantime pop it in the freezer!

Another thing I do with old cake is bread and butter pudding!

I agree with putting it in the freezer until you figure out what to do with it!

And I don't think having a cake in the fridge is weird...but I do live in Darwin!

Lime Slice; the concept of trifle in winter seems a little odd to me, I only ever make it at hristmas! A good idea though, thsnks.

Rouge; if you could please post the recipe, it would be most appreciated, thanks.

Crank Kitten; the Man doesn't like cherries, so no black forest here. But thanks anyway.

I was about to post the same thing.

There is a lesson in this for all of us. JUST EAT THE CAKE!

Never had leftover or stale chocolate cake in my entire life so I just don't know what you'd do with it!

Make a mini trifle. Cut it into small pieces, put in several bowls, cover in chocolate custard and warmed strawberry jam. Mix with a few m&m's (or berries but I prefer the m&m's) and devour.

It is delicious but very sweet

I was going to suggest serving it with warm custard and fruit but that's basically the mini trifle that chocaholic suggested
