Bathroom: Childproofing Ceramic Soap/Toothbrush Holders and Generally Tarting Up

I'm tackling the big issues today

I've tried so many things to keep the kids toothbrushes in one spot and soap. We've tried the holders that are meant to suction to the wall. Fall off (it's tiles). I've tried ceramic holders on the vanity. Useless as my 2yo climbs up on to the vanity and knocks them off.

The toothbrushes end up all over the house and telling DD1 to go brush her teeth ends up in a hunt for the toothbrush. Every single time. Does my head in.

So yep, one small step for mankind, one giant leap for this household if we can get it sorted.

My latest brainwave is to velcro dot the soap dish and toothbrush holder to the vanity.

    Anyone done this?

While I'm at it, the bathrooms look bare. They're both quite big rooms with big expanses of wall. What artwork, if any, do you have in your bathrooms? I've been looking for bath-related photos/canvases etc. but haven't found anything I like. I don't have enough photos of the kids in the bath to do tasteful black/whites of that. I've found one really nice arty photo of tree branches which would be good for our ensuite (we live in a tree change area so it suits the vibe of the house) but it's a bit grown up for their bathroom. Hmmmm.

We have those little adhesive cable-clips for our toothbrushes - not pretty, but very functional.

I think your velcro dot idea would work fine as well - for a while, at least, because the soap and steam and water will make the adhesive fail after a bit, and it would need replacing. But I can't see velcro stopping a determined 2yo...

As for pictures, Ikea usually has a good range of generic framed images.

I got the kids tooth brushes with suction cups on the bottom of the toothbrush, they stick directly on to the vanity and seem to get knocked on the florr much less often now. They were from target and were really cheap.

Websites like fabness and other online canvas shots have big photo/image gallerys that you can use. I try and get scoupons for canvas prints as you can save 75% plus!
