AF really irregular after DDs birth?

I had my DD via c section in November. I was expressing quite frequently whilst she was in hospital due to her being prem.

My AF was regular and returned 1 month post partum, just like the full normal AF I had pre DD. Even despite expressing on a regular basis and getting great milk supply.

A few months ago they started going all scanty like. Loss started to lessen, cramps ramped up though?

Last month I had brown spotting for 3 days. Massive cramping for about a week. That was it.

This month is looking quite similar to the last. I'm confused. What's happening? I'm getting quite a bloated feeling too.

I had a pelvic ultrasound a week ago, and they could find no abnormalities. My endometrium measured normal at 5mm.

Can anyone suggest what's happening? Has anyone had this happen to them? If so, did it get better on its own?

Edited to add: DD is now on formula, from 3 months post partum.

Mine have been exactly the same since having DD3. She was born by c-section so I don't know if that makes a difference, after my another 3 they were completely normal.

    Thanks for replying Yowie.

Did you have it happen every month?

I'm totally confused. Heading to gp in about a week.

I had really weird periods after my section. I went on The Pill for about 3-4 months and that made things regular.

Charlotte91 I wish I could go on the pill, but unfortunately all hormonal contraceptives are out for me :-(

It must be a post c section thing? So annoying..

I'm going to have a chat with my gp. It seems this is the norm now. A friend suggested endometriosis and thinks that even a low dose oral contraceptive pill may just help, let's see if the doctor will allow it!

    Update:

I went to the GP after writing this post and they put me on Levlen ED. They said any severe heart palpitations and I am to come off them. So far, so good though. Phew!

It's day 17 on them and I've just had a bit of brown spotting and cramping. Could this be from ovulation or my AF regulating? I'm getting cramps and bloating too.

Levlen ED is the only pill I've been on, other than the mini pill whilst BFing, and every time I start back on them the first cycle I get spotting around ovulation so that could be what you are experiencing, I've never had any issues with Levlen and right now I'm very grateful for it, since having DS2 AF has been all over the place, cycles ranging from 22 to 37 days. This is my second cycle back on levlen ED and I had a sugar pill yesterday on CD28 and AF arrived so fingers cross that means she is starting to sort herself out

Another update: it appears spotting is turning into a "semi normal AF", even got the PMS to match, along with awesomely sickening headaches!

Welcome back AF... :-( I really missed this?

At least I won't be buying hpt after hpt anymore lol
