I haven't had sore bbs yet but I've heard (and I know this is strange) that cabbage leaves against your breasts is supposed to be soothing. There is supposedly something in the cabbage that helps with the discomfort.
Hi Rosetti, mine went away around 12 weeks (from memory), but have had a few days here and there where they get sore again. For me I think it was that they were more sensitive, so got irritated easier... At Coles and probably other places, they have gel breast pads (rite aid brand?) in the baby section that you can cool like an ice pack, they might help if it is actual soreness (or you can dampen and freeze normal ones)... If it is sensitivity, then maybe something soft against them that doesn't move around would help inside your bra? That way you are supported, which should help, plus they aren't having the sensation of fabric rubbing them. I am sewing nappies at the moment, micro fleece is soft, I'm using that to make me some breast pads.
I think cabbage leaves are for engorgement? Definitely been told to use them while BFing, in moderation as they can apparently dry up your milk.
It's uncomfortable, but your body is getting ready to nurture the baby. My partner keeps telling me this everytime something hurts, and I want to strangle him! But he is right, and it puts things in perspective. Hope it goes away soon for you
