    Extreme tiredness around AF

I have always been the type to just get AF with no symptoms or warning, it would just be there every 4-5 weeks.

I just got AF back for the first time last month since my DD2 was born. Last month I suspected it was coming because my tummy was very tender for a couple of days prior and by the time it arrived I was so tired I could barely function. I don't get much sleep so I just assumed I was exhausted due to that, but now it is a month later and I have the same tender tummy and again I am so tired I feel like I am walking under water. It isn't so much sleepy tired, but more body tired itms.

Does anyone else get this around AF? I went back to normal straight away after the other two kids, do you think that this might pass?. The thought of living like this for 3-4 days of every month for the next 20 odd years is depressing!

My advice, go to the Dr and get yourself checked out for things like iron etc levels.

I've start spotting heavily today, which would be my 2nd AF since DS (first AF was just light spotting for a few days).

DS and I slept from 9-5.30 (up for 10 minutes) til 7 and I can hardly keep my eyes open. I'm so exhausted

Yes I get v. tired around AF time, more in the lead up but also in the first couple of days. And since I'm a newly self-appointed sleep expert (because I've read fully half of the internet over the last couple of weeks LOL) I can also confirm that the hormonal changes associated with menstruation are a known sleep disrupter. Add that to your existing sleep deprivation and your snore-like-a-diesel-engine bed partner and I'm not surprised you're feeling fatigued.

Having said all of that, if this is a new thing for it might be worth checking out with your dr as you could have some very easily-fixed deficiency or a thyroid iss-ewe. Or maybe you just need some chocolate.
