    Monday Wedding?

Would you go to a wedding that was arranged for a Monday? What would you think?

Just throwing some ideas around. Our anniversary falls on a Monday, and want to tie the knot on that date.

I think if i was given enough notice and could organise annual leave, flights etc then yes i would attend... it would also depend how close i am to the person i guess and where the wedding will be.

NO different to someone having a friday wedding really... except the possibility of arrivinbg to work with a hang over on a tuesday

I would go to a wedding on any day of the week.

Monday for health, Tuesday for wealth, Wednesday best of all,
Thursday for losses, Friday for crosses, Saturday for no luck at all

We were married on a Saturday .....bugger!

I'm tired of going to weddings that are just a "look at me, look at me" event and not about the love and commitment that two people have for each other.... I say go for it! What better day to married than on your anniversary.

    Thanks everyone. Appreciate it lots.

ZF; flights? Lol, you know where we'll be!

Cass; Monday for health, huh? Cool, I'll take that! And this wedding certainly will be far from a "look at me" swarai (sp)! More a casual bbq-do.

Jellybean; no wedding venue to be used! Can't stand the thought, especially after working at three different venues! That, and it's just not us. But a good thought.

I got married on a Monday, honeymooned until the Sunday and back at work the following Monday A few guests couldn't come but more because of the distance to the wedding than the weekday. The only person for whom it was an issue was my mum who is a lecturer but she was able to arrange cover as I gave her 6 months notice so it was fine. everyone else just took a day or two holiday.

we got married on a Tuesday. was very small though, only immediate family and my best friend and DH best friend. but everyone we invited to the ceremony came, my brother even got a plan into town that arrived an hour before the ceremony and took one back 8 hours later so he didn't miss class.
we had our reception on Sat, and had only about 50% of people turn up.

I don't think the day matters, I think if you mean enough to them, they will want to be there and make it happen.

ps Cass72 ~ if only that was true!!

The backyard affair is awesome - that's what we did. We only had about 30 people to our wedding and it was on a Saturday. Just close family and close friends.

As an aside....DH's niece is getting married on a Thursday but it is being held at Kings Park (Perth) at 11am and then the recpetion at Roleystone at 6pm. We won't be going as to cut costs they aren't inviting all partners and definitely no children - not even to the ceremony (which is outside in a park wtf???). Even her future BIL's partner (who he's been living with in a defacto relationship for a few years - they have a toddler) is not invited. People are too weird....

I would go whatever day - not as if you don't get a bit of warning with a wedding.

Cass72 - wt???? Why on earth would you go from KP up into the hills? Like there are no beautiful parks in Roleystone?? Some of the thiongs people do with venues are very odd IMO

Cass; wtf is it with their invite principle? Geez!

ZF; I wonder if I could get a 'crop dusting' of confetti over the park.

I would go to a wedding any day too. I wanted mine on a Friday. But my mum had a big whinge because some of her sisters might of had to take a day off work. My opinion was that if they couldn't take a day off work then yay for me, saves a meal cost lol! But unfortunately DH agreed with her (first for everything) and we had it Saturday. As it turned out the one aunt I really wanted there couldn't come but others that I barely know but "had to" invite did come. I truly truly wish that I had stuck to my guns and had my lovely Friday January wedding that I wanted. A Saturday May wedding was lovely. I had a great day. But I am disappointed that it wasn't exactly what I wanted. So I say if you want it on a Monday. Have it on a Monday. Anyone important enough will make an effort to be there.
