    Best Cloth Nappies for Newborns

So I am sure there would have to be a thread about the best Cloth/MCN for newborns but I did have a quick look.

I have my whole stash of MCN baby beehinds from my SIL. They are all minky though and quite puffy, if thats the right word.
As bub will be here in March it will still be hot in Brissy so I dont want minky for the first couple of months.

Both DS's were 7 pounders so quite small and I found the few cloth nappies I had didn't fit well and leaked.
So I have heard Itty Bitty are good for NB but what are some other suggestions and what style?

    Thanks

We bought the itti bitti d'lish AIO's in small to begin with, and we are also getting a stash of tuttos. I've heard the d'lish are great for newborns!

    They are minky though.

Kissaluvs are supposed to be good, but I had a hard time locating them so I went with itti bitti!

    Good luck!

Itti bitti didn't fit my newborns yet one was 8+lbs

I prefer prefolds (booroi were my favourite) or newborn size fitteds and covers. The kissaluvs fitted are great so are the swaddlebee ones I have. Ummm there is also baby beehinds newborn which were good aswell. That's all I can think of at the moment.

I only just started using MCNs today, I've currently got DS in Greenkids. So far so good.

Oh so I have just been having a look around the net and I asked a good friend of mine what she thought was best and she gave me a few names.

I like the look of Grovia AIO and they are only $20 from the nappy shop two streets away. So excited I am going to go up and have a look next week.

I've got DS2 in a newborn-sized fitted with a cover. The nappy is still big on him but the cover is the important bit. I'm using Tots Bots.

I used a few with Miss A - Kissaluvs newborn, itti bitti d'lish SIO and AIO (these were too loose around the legs for her for a few weeks and she was just under 4kgs), magicalls and tots bots teeny fits

Without doubt the Kissaluvs and tots bots were the best from the beginning, but then once she got to say 6 weeks old I found the itti bittis great too.

FWIW, I don't think the minky are any hotter than PUL.

My DD is tiny (25th percentile at birth but dropped to the 3rd and has stayed there). Prefolds and covers have been the best fit throughout. Kissaluv newborn and Totsbots teenyfit were the only AIOs that fit her at birth. Small itty bitty d'lish are great now and close popins are good too (love the gussets). But both were way too big the first few weeks. Greenkids are still way too big on her at 12 weeks but I'm looking forward to reusing the prefolds in them one day.

I'm a fitteds and covers girl for NBs. Their poos are really no match for AI2s or pockets in my experience and 2 layers of leg elastic works like magic. I know they aren't for everyone, but I preferred adding a cover to changing a whole outfit.

I love Bubblebubs for tinies. Lil Daks make tiny pockets that fit well and BBH make littler nappies that fit but I hated them.
I found OSFM didn't fit properly until about 4 months old, even on my 4kg at birth kiddo.
I would also advise against getting a stash made up of only one brand. Would really suck if they just didn't suit your bub. All of mine have been different and suited different nappies.

If you go on Friday next week they have a playgroup. You can get heaps of good advice from the mums there, as well as the shop people! And they have the cutest TotsBots teeny fits in adorable prints.

I had a December baby in Brissie, and, honestly, minky wasn't an issue at all. It's no hotter than regular PUL.
I also loved Bubblebubs AIOs, as well as their Candies and Bamboo Delights, Spunky Butts fitteds (hard to find now) and Bambootys.
