Question Fringes - In or out?

So, what's the go with fringes these days?

    Hot or not??

Do you have to have a particular shaped face, hair type?

I have a round chubby face and my hair is quite fine.

Also while we are on the topic of round chubby faces, does shorter hair always emphasise a chubby face??

I'm in DESPERATE need of a make over!! My hair is not exactly LONG long but long enough to annoy the bajeebus out of me not to mention ratty!

I've been told to speak to a hairdressor but each time i do i always walk away with a hair cut THEY think i should have and its the same as i always have it, i've found if *I* walk in with what i have in mind they actually do it!

Those on my FB who have seen what i look like feel free to be completely honest about whether a fringe or short hair style would suit

I've had a fringe for years now as I have a high forehead and it looks better ( also mum says it hides my wrinkles lol thanks mum), they are ALWAYS in for me but I think they are still in anyway, saw some cool fringes in a mag lately.
Don't know about fine hair though, would it look stringy?, i have thick hair so can't help there. It always grows out anyway if you hate it.
Get one of those phone apps where you can try on different 'do's onto a photo of yourself- good luck

Finding a style you like and what suits you is the hardest! I usually search online for hairstyles and take a picture to the hairdressers on my phone and ask if they can cut it like that.

No idea if fringes are the go or not. I'm always so behind the trends anytime. Lol. At the moment I have side swept bangs just cause I wanted them.

If you want a fringe go the whispy look instead of the blunt cut. that way if it's winds it still looks neat. I have always had a fringe and have it cut so I can push it to the side if i want

I have a great hairdresser. When I want a change I go and say I want a change but I don't want this. She then gets out some magazines/books and shows me some ideas then we go from there.

    Fringes - In or out?

You can wear short hair with a round face- I do
    Layers below the chin only.

My hairdresser knows me and what I like/dislike, how much maintenance etc.
You need to be upfront about how much time you want to spend doing your hair etc.

Try a concave, I think it suits everyone!

Ps- ask for a wash and wear cut as short hair is often more maintenance (you may not be able to put it in a ponytail if you CBF)

Depends what style you like, they don't suit me at all

If you have a side fringe it is less work. A straight fringe needs some time to style or if you havnt had one you need to train your hair to sit that way, so work out if you have the time.

I used to have a fringe, grew it out, cut it back, grew it out, etc etc etc. I haven't had a fringe in a long time. Last time I went to the hair dresser I asked about going back to a fringe and she said that because I have such a defined middle part now it would take forever for the fringe not to automatically split, and the fringe would have to be put back slowly. So I didn't bother.

I was contemplating it, my hairdresser throws in free fringe cuts in-between proper cuts. Since I'm undecided if I'm growing it again, or going short & funky I've held off getting one.

Fringes make me sweat and give me forehead pimples so while I like them I can't do them. I think they look good if you keep them maintained.

A fringe wouldnt be good for me then as i have a very defined middle split. Hmm thats ok i'll look at something else.

Might go short with layers maybe. Or maybe just get the dry ratty bits cut off and keep it a decent length and dye it to make it look better. I have just had the same look for my whole adult life so far, though ive gone from black hair to red hair to a horrible mixture of brown, red and a bleached strip.. Not at all pretty!!

I have a round and chubby face and I would never, ever get a short hair cut. Shoulder length is the shortest I'll go.
I'm starting to train my hair for a side fringe, so that when I go to cut to then I've already trained it. I love fringes.

Instead of a fringe how about some gorgeous colours through it?

I was considering that. I've always either gone with a plain colour or just put one or two strips of colour in.

Looking at photos of myself, i really liked the way i looked with black hair, though i swore i'd never go back to black but if it looks nice why not? Though my actual hair length is bugging me. Maybe ill get a few inches off get it re-layered and then dyed.

I've got dark brown/black on top and red underneath. We did that because of how fast my hair grows, the top layer hides the regrowth & the red shows through quite a lot when I want it to.

Re: Fringes - In or out?

A good color can really work wonders. I would recommend against black black- its too harsh for most people but there are some lovely browns. If you get 2 colors or more it can look sensational. In real life our hair is never just one color, and a blanket color can end up looking flat.

I have a fringe, love it on days when my hair is impossible, I can throw it up and just do the fringe and look ok
