My back is killing me and it has been since pregnancy. My ob said it was just normal pregnancy aches that you get in pregnancy esp subsequent ones. Anyway it still ached 2 months after having my son and I saw a physio she said it was just the relaxin hormones and gave me a good massage and said it should get better soon. However it's more than 7 months since giving birth and it still aches it's the centre of my back. Is this normal? Has anyone else had this? I am pretty fit at the moment I go to the gym 5-6 times a week and am losing the baby weight slowly.
That doesn't sound normal, or nice, back pain blows I'd book back in to my physio for another follow up, see what they say then. Did you have an epidural? I've heard of some women having nerve damage from their epidurals that causes pain well after the birth.
Razz did you happen to have an abdo separation by any chance?
I did with DD2 and no-one mentioned anything about it after her birth. I went back to the gym at 2 months doing what I used to do and my back pain was horrendous. Once I got the separation under control it has improved out of sight. I no longer do any crunches at all.
Yep I did have an epidural I didn't think that could be the cause but makes sense and I know it wasn't done well as I only got a partial block so I could feel half my uterus and lift one leg so I still needed to use the gas! When he did it I remember him saying he needed to put it in a different spot to normal as my anatomy is different? Have no idea how he could tell by looking at my back!
However I had back pain while I was pregnant so that was before the epidural.
I asked my ob about my stomach muscles at my 8 week check and he said they were good but sure didn't feel like it. He did an ultrasound to look on the inside too
