    MLC employee retirement plan?

I have a new employer and I have just received a package from MLC welcoming me as a member. I am already a member with Hostplus so I was going to roll it all into one, but which one? i don't know anything about MLC.
Does anyone have super with them or know someone who does?

    MLC employee retirement plan?

I don't have any super with MLC but I am a fan of industry funds. HostPlus is an industry super fund so all profits are returned to members rather than to share holders.

    Hi tasha,
My company recently joined mlc and we were offered discount premiums.
    I am with australian super.

After consideration of my situation i decided to stay with aust super which is also an industry super fund.

I couldnt justify the extra fees with mlc and when i rang our funds manager to fully explainwhy the fees are so much comoared to australian super ahe sais because of the service they provide being able to call her any time and mlc has more investment options.

I didnt buy it really. I was with amp for 10 yrs and never called up my funds manager lol

Thanks Mum2. I think i will stay with HOSTPLUS. I was talking about it with one of the girls at work and she agrees. Only thing is, this employee package has life insurance too. Not sure what thats about, but whatever.

We have our own self managed plans with MLC. The way to look at it is that if there is the possibility of changing jobs or different jobs at the same time (ie picking up some casual waitressing job for the weekend while working in an office) then you're better off organising your own super and having only one instead of having different funds going.

Speaking of retirement funds...I'm researching retirement villages for my parents.

Anyone got any suggestions? This company looks okay, but this is all new to me.

My plan was to do some research on various places, then visit them.
