I am currently approx 8-9 weeks pregnant and have a 22mth old girl already.
We have the strider plus pram and didn't get the capsule with DD but soooo wish we had of!
With this baby we are wanting to get a capsule so we dont have to wake the bub moving from car to pram etc. SO!
Does the strider plus take any other capsule other than the strider capsule? A safer one perhaps?
Also, DD's carseat was manufactured in late 2009 and is RF until 12kgs. Considering how absolutely appaling the new seats are in regards to RF (most only go to the equivalent of 8-9kgs) we were just going to move DD to a different seat that would take her up to 7yo (she will be 2.5yo when bub is born) and use her current seat for the new bub. But will it be too old?? Are we better off buying 2 new seats as well as the capsule for the first 6ish months?
Last question! Lol... Does anyone know which seat/s RF the longest?? I saw someone mention a safe n sound one in another thread? Or will ERf be out by june next year and is that a better option?? Hit me with brands and models to google!!
Most car seats have an expiration date on them, if not, usually it's 6 years after date of manufacture.
Ive only ever used Safe n Sound seats with my kids until they get to around 3 and then i switch seats to Infa Secure brand which will last until they are 7/8 years of age.
As above Strider does take all steelcraft capsules. Also steelcraft is a sister company to Safe n Sound (both made by Britax).
Also I think you can hire the steelcraft capsule from places like baby bunting.
I know the InfaSecure Neon is supposed to be from birth to 4 (or maybe it's 7)
I have the Viper (model before the Neon) and I think it's a brilliant seat. you can get the Neon from Big W for a good price.
