PRODUCT SAFETY RECALL
Child Restraint Vehicle Anchor Kit - Batch 022 & 023
IGC Dorel Pty Ltd (A.C.N 124 078 762) are constantly testing its products to ensure safety and performance. An investigation has identified a component fault in the vehicle anchor kit that only affects batch numbers 022 and 023.
As a preventative measure IGC Dorel is conducting a public recall of the vehicle anchor kit supplied with Maxi-Cosi, Safety 1st, Mother’s Choice, Go Safe, ZuZu and SAAS Car Restraints; including Mother’s Choice and Safety 1st vehicle anchor kits sold through Target, Toys ‘R’ Us, David Jones, Supercheap, Autobarn, Dimmeys and Independent Specialty retailers across Australia purchased after 1 April 2012.
Defect:
Batches 022 and 023 of the anchor bracket are faulty. The anchor bracket connects the car restraint tether strap to the car anchorage bolt.
Hazard:
If the tether anchor bracket fails in the event of a collision, the performance of the car restraint may be impacted increasing the risk of injury to the child.
IGC Dorel supplies a Vehicle Anchor Kit with all child restraints in accordance with Australian Standards. Most modern vehicles have a built-in anchor point and bracket fitted by the vehicle manufacturer, and therefore, it is possible that you have not used an IGC Dorel Vehicle Anchor Kit at time of installation.
As a precautionary measure to ensure safety IGC Dorel recommend the following steps.
WHAT TO DO?
Step 1:
Check if your product is affected by identifying the batch number markings on the Vehicle Anchor Kit bracket.
If batch number 022 or 023 is stamped, then the item is subject to the recall and customers should immediately discontinue use.
IGC Dorel will provide customers with a free Vehicle Anchor Replacement Kit.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The affected Vehicle Anchor Kit should not be returned to the retailer.

To receive a free replacement kit, please complete the online registration form below.
Once you have completed the online form, you will receive a confirmation email that will automate the mail out of your Vehicle Anchor Kit via Express Post.
Delivery is guaranteed within the Express Post networks on the next business day. Please allow 2-3 working days if you are located outside Express Post networks.
6 - Product Safety Notice
Step 3:
Upon receiving your Vehicle Anchor Replacement Kit, please read carefully the product instructions on the package insert prior to installation.
Once you have completed the installation steps, we ask that you return the faulty Vehicle Anchor Kit in the supplied Reply Paid envelope as soon as possible.
