For my IL Christmas this year I'm making a Christmas tree for dessert that will be a combination of different elements, but the leaves, branches and ornaments will be a macaron tower.
I've made macarons a few times before and this time am planning on making them next week and then freezing them so its not such a last minute thing. I'm wondering though what the earliest is going to be that I can assemble the tower. I've only ever served them immediately in the past, and they never last long enough for me to know what they're like out in the open air for any length of time. Everyone's coming to our house so there's no issue of transporting them - more that I don't need any "help" from the ILs IYKWIM.
Does anyone know how long I'll be able to leave them "exposed" before they go mushy?
Sorry can't help but I've heard lots about Macaron's tonight... good luck and take lots of pictures cause if it doesn't last well in the open at least you got proof :-)
ha ha. That's funny. I've made a birthday cake for my mum's birthday tomorrow and its the first time I've made fondant flowers. I'm pretty chuffed with it for a first effort (if I do say so myself), but I took HEAPS of photos cos I have images of my girls "helping me" with it somehow before Mum even sees it ;-)
