What's the go with this? Why did birthstones become 'modern'? I thought there was nothing wrong with the traditional ones? Which ones do you prefer if yours or your child's birthstone has more than one option?
I didn't realise there was more than one option?? LOL
ETA Just did a bit of a totally crap google, to discover that we already use are called "modern" - the list put together in the very recent year of 1912
I dunno? It's only for my girls that it's a problem - the rest of us only have one option LOL. For DD1 being October she can either have Opal or Tourmaline, and DD2 in June can have either Alexandrite, Pearl or Moonstone. I always thought October was Opal and June was Pearl?
I'm a June baby & was always told Pearl was my birthstone, after a google i much prefer Alexandrite.
I always pick Sapphire for my 2 Sept babies & Aquamarine for my March baby
i thought pearl was june (mum n brother) and opel was oct (other nbrother). are these what they call traditional or modern?. im november and always use topaz.
this reminds me... really should find out what Spocks is
Well I"m sticking with Opal. It just seems like they wanted to make sure they were all sparkly coloured jewels kwim? Pearls and Opals aren't that sparkly compared to other gemstones.
