If you "cut" a glass bottle neck with blunt scissors, it sharpens them!!

One of the kids ruined a pair of my sewing scissors & I seen this on the net & thought the next time I have a glass bottle, Im gonna try that! IT WORKS!

wow thats awesome! i have a few scissors that could do with this! any particular type of glass bottle? how do you do it? just as thought you're trying to cut through it like a plastic bottle?

I have just a plain glass bottle from a lemon/lime bitters cordial I placed the scissors as if I was trying to cut the top off the neck & just kept slicing at it for a few minutes & yep they now cut fabric again.

Aluminium foil is a good sharpener too.

You can use a screwdriver instead of a bottle neck too.

Yep, & you sharpen safety pins by running them through your hair I learnt that from mum when she used to change my sisters nappy
